  i truly believe many jws suffer from what is described below.

  the gb is constantly emphasizing "serving others" and "never rocking the boat" or "take the discipline even if it was not your fault" or "be a peacemaker no matter what even if your feelings are trampled on.

  when i was a jw i never let anyone -especially any congregation elder- to walk over me - never.

  an amish man has been charged with sexual assaults, dividing a congregation that prefers to handle disputes internally.. i have no idea why religious leaders believe that they have the authority to handle sexual assaults internally.

  when a crime is committed they should contact the proper authorities..

  i cannot understand how the news media makes a huge deal about one sexual offender census worker going door-to-door, but ignores that the wtbs permits sexual offenders to go door-to-door.

  the wtbs claims that they cannot prevent a "christian" sexual offender in the congregation from going door-to-door since that is part of "true" worship.

  they care more about keeping dangerous predators out in field service than protecting innocent children and others.

  orthodox jewish leaders in new york would neverpermit their members to go to the police to report sexual abuse.

  however, things are changing even among them when it comes to sexual abuse.

  No More Work on Saturdays at Bethels Worldwide

  a letter was read at tonight's meeting announcing that the governing body has decided to stop work on saturdays at all bethels worldwide.

  bethel workers are encouraged to now spend saturdays with their local congregation in field service.

  the new arrangement goes into effect june, 2009.. what do you think are the motives for such a change?.

  Letter from Spanish Branch regarding Governing Body's decision

  the spanish branch office sent a letter to all congregations in spain explaining the governing body's decision to stop all printing, storing and shipping of literature in spain.

  the spanish government recently ruled that all bethalites are entitled to a pension after having worked at bethel for many years.

  the ruling of the government sent the governing body scrambling.

  Bethel reductions in Europe

  perhaps this has been discussed before, but at the extjforo.com (the spanish ex-witness website) there has been a lot of discussion of the governing body's decision to either close or severely reduce bethel homes in europe - in particular spain.

  there was even a letter sent to all congregations in spain explaining the situation.

  bethalites are being asked to leave - they are not even getting other assignments.
