Can your first wish be to have all the wishes fulfilled that you can imagine? If so, why bother with wish #2 or #3?

Why I can see no reason to believe in Christianity
by free2beme inthose of us on this board, who live in the united states, know this country has a lot of christian history attached to it's founders and current political state of things.
if i look in the yellow pages, under christianity, in the church section and browse the listed selection; i will quickly notice that the large majority of options are christian based in one way or another.
with this said, more then likely you are working with christians, living next door to them or related to them in your life.

Whatever Christians can imagine about Christ both in the Christian Bible and outside of it, I can imagine about fairies.
Believing in fairies is an act of faith. Not believing in them will make you toast. Etc., Ad Naseum.

I don't generally buy into conspiracy theories because my experience
by gubberningbody inhas told me two things which militate against the same:.
1. people aren't that smart.. 2. people can't keep secrets.. .
p.s.. i suspect the psychology of those who do believe in these is partly affected by their experience of dealing with people consistently smarter than themselves coupled with a greater need for drama..

I also believe that conspiracy buffs are mild schizophrenics with paranoid delusions.

Whose Prayers Are Heard?
by compound complex in"but peter began, and said, 'now i really understand that god is not a respecter of persons, but in every nation he who fears him anddoes what is right is acceptable to him.
' " --- acts 10:34, 35; douay version.
as a jw, if you were one, did you truly believe that god would answer the prayer of a "worldly" individual only if he were praying: "dear god, i'm desperate!

As a witness I thought we were hot s**t and that Jehovah would only listen to us. Now I'm an atheist so the issue is moot but If I believed in God it would be a Deistic God who doesn't much listen to prayers from anyone.

Both brothers and sisters wield power in different ways but it is the brothers (elders) who have the power of "life and death" through disfellowshipping and thus eliminate any sister.

I did a pro creationist report in my biology class in High school. I read it in fron of the class and teacher. My teacher gave me a B. It must have been out of pity since he sounded like a staunch "evolutionist" but he gave me that grade for the effort. I lifted and slightly rearranged that whole report from the Evolution book.
If it weren't for that religion I would now be a paleoanthropologist dusting off prehistoric bones.

Each Creative Day is 7,000 years long, exactly. That puts the second sentence of Genesis at 48,000 years ago. The first sentence, in most translations allows for a semantical separation. The Society teaches that the earth could be billions of years old along the rest of the Cosmos. The millenium is supposed to complete the last 1,000 years of a 7X7,000 year creation.
The idea that the Creative days were 7,000 years long came from Charles Russell. Not even a hint of Scriptural support.

They are welcome here. Hopefully they are not as arrogant as what's her name who had the gall to claim that this was a JW site and not a Christendom site right before she hijacked the thread.
