There were many pioneers on disability. I could understand that if they wrote letters, phone calls, etc. But most were out with the group, going door to door without problem.

did you find JW's expected products/services for free from other JW's?
by highdose injust wondering if i'm the only one whose experianced this?.

Individual JWs and the organization most definately expect services and products for free. If you have a specialized skill that can be used by the regional building committee, you will likely be expected to work as much for them as you do at your secular job.

Lucy, the oldest known homonid, lived arround 3.2 million years ago. She was not a homo sapien. It is thought that the first homo sapiens (humans) first lived arround 200,000 years ago. Definately in contradiction to the bible.

Never squealed on anyone. I lived a double-life for quite a while, there was a lot of dirt out there on me, I certainly wouldn't judge others. I was squealed on many times for petty things. If only they knew what I was really doing.

Why do Religionists get so Defensive?
by LouBelle ini'm not only talking about our former religion, but all faiths.
members will defend their faith, some very stubbornly no matter what evidence is shown to them, even if it's from the bible.
many a time they only want it to be seen their way and won't allow for another interpretation.. does it stem from the fact that they are scared about being wrong?

It is simple. The weaker your arguement, the less evidence you have, the more fiercely you have to argue.

College edumacachoon...
by mkr32208 ini'm a big fan of college.
however i just have to wonder if sometimes the society isn't right about it.
i mean are we devaluing the college education with this 'everyone should go' type mentality?

This reminds me of an episode of southpark. Rand Marsh was talking about how their had to be "gods" (educated people) and "clauds" (blue collar workers). People who are in no way intelligent are getting colleged educations and that devalues the education. Additionally, it leaves no one to do important tasks. The scholarship system once recruited the great minds to get an education. Now it favors minorities, regardless of qualifications.

Crazy JW chaperon Stories
by superman inthe jw's must not trust their members or at least don't have too much faith in them when it comes to being alone around member of the opposite sex.
i can remember one time in particular from when i was a teenager that still makes me laugh today.. when i was younger i used to go out in service on a regular basis during the week when i had summer break.
one time when i met for service there were only two other people that showed up.

I was chaperon to my holier than thou brother and his bitch of a pioneer wife. They were always trying to get off on thier own, I thought good for them, so I was going to leave. Then they told me that I couldn't leave because they needed a chaperon. So they wanted to be alone but had to have someone hiding in another part of the house.

Show-down with elder at the kingdom hall
by Hobo Ken inthis is podcast 8 in the death or obedience series.. this was recorded on christmas day 2008.. after our last visit from two local elders my wife felt she could no longer be known as a jehovah's witness and had chosen to disassociate herself in november 2008.. we had been on a family holiday and had returned to find that one of the local elders who had visited us had warned off my mother-in-law from having anything to do with my wife - her daughter.
he also made false statements about one of my children.. i decided to confront this elder at the kingdom hall.
this podcast is the recording of our conversation.. notice how he denies making such statements to my mother-in-law and falsely accuses me of teaching her beliefs contrary to jehovah's witnesses.. i ask whether it's a sin to no longer be a jehovah's witness?.

This is in such direct contradiction with the July 2009 Awake that says a person should not be cut off from thier family for changing thier religous beliefs. Sickening.

My experience at the District Convention today - Appreciate your comments
by BonaFide ini know i am the one to constantly harp on this board how the organization has lost its "swagger" and the baptism and attendance is going down, and people are waking up.. not so fast.. the audience cried, i mean a lot of people cried when they played some of the songs from the new songbook.
some had bethel singers who sounded pretty good singing them.
so many after the program were saying how touched they were.. then the new release of the book showing how the book of acts prefigures the organization today.

Sound terrible. Glad I don't have to hear the new songs.

The director of The Company (CIA) is refered to as Mother.
Fitting, I guess, to refer to headquarters as Mother. They do whatever they want without reason and answer to no one.
