And to think back when that happened I spammed a million addresses in France in protest using an email harvester. (Of course I counted a minute witnessing time for each spammed email) I think I'm still pioneering because of that.

France taxing The Watchtower, what became of that?
by VM44 inyears ago it was announced that france was going to tax the watchtower.. i believe the watchtower took out a full page newspaper ad in the new york times (?
) protesting this action on the part of france.. the watchtower in france appealed this decision to the courts.. so, after all these years, what happened?.
did the watchtower (france division) have to pay taxes or not?.

Is the number of elders/servants increasing or decreasing?
by Olin Moyles Ghost inover the last few years, i have noticed an increase in the number of pleas from the platform for brothers to "reach out" for "privileges of service.
" it has even been said that there are not enough elders and servants in the congregations.
this could be a local phenomenon, but i suspect it is more widespread.

I can't think of any reason why a rational, intelligent male below the age of 40 who isn't trying to beard himself as a normal heterosexual male would "reach out". It strikes me that effeminate men are becoming the rule. Sissies all I tell ya!

I know what the question is, but proceeding in that manner is to fall for the fallacy of the complex question. The post asks and answers this question in the affirmative "Are JW's biblically correct in both of the matters GB addressed previously in this thread? YES!" and then moves on to askand answer "Isn't this wonderful?!!"
Actually it would be neither here nor there if it were true, because they're damned if it's true and damned if it's not.
It is vitally important that those who've been drinking this koolaid whether from birth or from a later date recognize this.
Of, course it's easy to verify the essentials...

It's irrelevant. The doctrine against blood doesn't have a foundation in the NT as applied to transfusions, as it's a tissue transplant and the body doesn't consume the blood, moreover the making of distinctions w/regard to minor blood fractions is w/o any biblical basis whatsoever.
Ask any elder, CO, DO, HLC or PVG member what the biblical basis for making distinctions w/regard to minor blood fractions and you'll be told that you're a troublemaker. The only "biblical" basis there might be would be if the GB is the vicar of Christ on earth when it makes ex-cathedra pronouncements in the same manner as does the Pope.

Reading is over-rated
by yadda yadda 2 inhave you ever seen people who just constantly read.
they read at every given opportunity, at the gym, on the bus and train, at the beach, all weekend, even while holidaying overseas they mostly just read.
you even see them going down the street holding a book while walking, like some kind of zombie.

I convert books and articles with IBM's text-to-speech and "Audrey" a british woman's voice into mp3's and go on long hikes/bike rides/runs. I suppose as a result of this I've "listened" to the Bible all the way through at least 7-8 times. There are so many books I've absorbed this way that I never would have had the patience to do so had I been forced out of circumstance to remain still. I think it's great. Some material doesn't lend itself to this sort of conversion, however plays, novels, history texts, psychology, sociology, philosophy and works of that sort do.
I think of reading books in this way as listening to people who have something to say and a way of enlarging my world, whereas most conversation I have with people who are not engaged and interested in becoming more than they are I find make my world feel smaller, less colorful and constricted.
No wonder I'm not at all missing the society at the hall. No one ever had anything to say. I suppose that's why I liked giving parts. I didn't have to listen to the insipid thoughts of others, instead others had to listen to my insipid thoughts.

The Proud Humble People
by gubberningbody ini've noticed that there are quite a number of uneducated, unaccomplished jw's who seem to take their lack of accomplishment and education as a positive accomplishment.. the proud humble.. .
that and the constant references to people being too smart leaving the [b]organization.
"too smart?".

How bizarre.
That and the constant references to people being too smart leaving the [b]organization. "Too smart?". Can a person be "Too healthy, too sane" or too anything where that "thing" is positive? I'm not sure that it speaks well of an organization that prides itself in this manner.

I think they're responsibility-avoidant-mythical-pseudo-appointees who are using individually and collectively the argument used by those ultimately found guilty of war crimes at Nuremberg.

Your children are worthless. Get rid of them.
by easyreader1970 inlast night the co came to visit.
he gave a talk that centered around a christian's ability to function well within the organization.
there are many christians who are having problems in their personal lives and this can be traced to one thing.

At the risk of sounding like a dangerous lunatic, I'll suggest as I have elsewhere...
"Has anyone thought of packing that CO into the trunk of their car and driving him out to the desert and leaving him there with a green bible and a "My Book Of Bible Stories?"

Of course, Perry we must wonder about the case of the greedy ever-whining wimp-nephew of Abraham - Lot, who by his whining caused others not to perish who were themselves on the hit list, namely those in Zoar.
"18 Then Lot said to them: “Not that, please, Jehovah! 19 Please, now, your servant has found favor in your eyes so that you are magnifying your loving-kindness, which you have exercised with me to preserve my soul alive, but I—I am not able to escape to the mountainous region for fear calamity may keep close to me and I certainly die. 20 Please, now, this city is nearby to flee there and it is a small thing. May I, please, escape there—is it not a small thing?—and my soul will live on.” 21 So he said to him: “Here I do show you consideration to this extent also, by my not overthrowing the city of which you have spoken. 22 Hurry! Escape there, because I am not able to do a thing until your arriving there!” That is why he called the name of the city Zo′ar." - Ge. 18:19-22
Why would a whining wimp cause God to change his mind as regards those who were truly wicked?
(point is that they weren't)
Oh, and no. You are wrong about Abraham.
If you are right, then were Abraham just cave to the "Whatever Jehovah does is Ok, because he does it." would make Abraham as much of an immoral imbecile as any other who makes that claim of God.
Being bigger, smarter, stronger, and longer lived and impossible to effectively thwart does not a moral being make.
Abraham knew this and this is why he said:
"Is the God of all the earth not going to do what is right?!!"
Any other explanation is PC-spinning as regards his words in the same manner as the WTS has excused Samson for his lack of morality in the matter of selecting a Philistine woman with big jugs as a wife. "
"14 Then Samson went down to Tim′nah and saw a woman in Tim′nah of the daughters of the Phi·lis′tines. 2 So he went up and told his father and his mother and said: “There is a woman that I have seen in Tim′nah of the daughters of the Phi·lis′tines, and now get her for me as a wife.” 3 But his father and his mother said to him: “Is there not among the daughters of your brothers and among all my people a woman, so that you are going to take a wife from the uncircumcised Phi·lis′tines?” Still Samson said to his father: “Get just her for me, because she is the one just right in my eyes.” 4 As for his father and his mother, they did not know that that was from Jehovah, that he, Jehovah was looking for an opportunity against the Phi·lis′tines, as at that particular time the Phi·lis′tines were ruling over Israel." - Judges 14:1-4
Samson was just an ass of a jawbone in the hands of Jehovah. Morality had sunk so low that the champion was no better than an amoral Rambo on steroids. Samson, in my eyes only became a moral being at his choice of death at the end. Before all that he was nothing but a tool.
Of course the WTS and other Bible writers simply cannot tolerate that their heroes should be less than the best (even if this points out how Jehovah is in control)
Narkissos, I'm at the point where I must examine each statement in the bible as to its context w/in the times as an anthropologist might do as well as ask the question "Is this really the express will of the Almighty?, Or just a record of what transpired?...Or neither..." Quite frankly I'm at the point where I'm not sure I can do anything except take personal responsibility as if I were Jehovah and determine what I think ought or ought not to have been done in each and every case.
If I'm supposed to imitate God as beloved children, then must I not know why, when, where and if he has said or done any of the things which were said or done in his name?
I have to. I can't accept something just because others have, because it's convenient or even soothing.
