  Should I be doing more?

  my story is posted in the "personal experiences" section of this discussion board and someone responded with and interesting observation.

  he said that it's great that i'm now out but that i have 'dues to pay' to those whom i have disfellowshipped and talked out of going to college while serving as an elder.

  while serving as an elder i did share in disfellowshipping several members of the congregation, many of whom are still out there being shunned by family and friends.

  you = the general reader

  "divinely guided one" = oh say, a member of the writing dept. acting on behalf of the governing body.

  ianao: If a someone who considers themself "divinely guided" tells you that you should go out and take a dump on the road as it is God's will, then you do so and get arrested, it was your own fault for listening to the one who recommended you take a dump on the road to remain in favor with God as it was your personal choice to do so.
  The "divinely guided" one has done nothing wrong.

  Now, please state where I have called TheOldHippie "divinely guided". Thank you.

  inerrantists believe that every word in the bible is literally true; to believe otherwise, they say, is to remove the foundation upon which one may have a certain understanding of how one may achieve salvation and reach the kingdom of heaven.

  that makes perfect sense, on one level.

  if one could indeed know that everything in the bible is true, then one would just have to turn to the part where the method of salvation is described, do what the bible says, and live forever.

  What is at issue is truth. Not me. Why don't you try and attack what is at issue rather than your opinion on who's getting personal or not. You will be able to find a zillion faults with me my friend, I am the least of imperfection, believe me.

  No, what's at issue (from my perspective) is YOU. Why don't YOU try attacking an issue rather than generalizing your belief system (read: holy binity) to fit whatever mood you happen to be in on a specific day. Oh whoops, I bet you can't do that, as it seems to be your only means of defense.

  I'm not trying anything. I am successfully defending my beliefs. If you don't like it, move on. Or, do you think by your textual oppression you'll change me or my beliefs?

  As you've said before yourself, I will post in the matter I see fit. If YOU don't like it, please feel free to ignore *my* posts.

  BTW: I don't expect superstitious *personal attack*s such as yourself to change your core beliefs, but it is VERY interesting to watch your belief system evolve to fit whatever argument you are currently conducting. As I said before, I pitty you on the day someone reads a line of scripture to you that you've always skimmed and blows away your current belief system. All it takes is a different perspective, oh pious one.

  need help please!

  i have a friend that got dsfd last month.she has a sister that is being woken up in the middle of the night and can feel something on top of her chest.

  she is convinced that it is a demonic attack.interstingly their mother said it is because she has accepted literature from the dsf sister!.

  well i have explained to her that it is a medical condition.

  I once experienced that very same thing. Convinced myself that it was because I had bought some second hand furniture that was demon posessed.

  I sold the furniture on to an elder.

  in a discussion with my mom, she mentioned that since the sept 11th there has been a few letter read to her congo.

  she didn't go into details, and i didn't want to push to hard about what they said.

  but she mentioned that now the world leaders are starting to cry peace and security.

  Here's a dare (I'm too chicken to do it).

  Sombody sign up at gc.net and post how they despise those dispicable appostates and then provide links to some of the pictures that Kent put up the other day (the grusome ones) cheering for what they preceive will happen to them.

  I wonder what the reaction would be?
