my husband is getting called on by an elder I hate

my husband was not going to go to the memorial, but then his sister started bullying him via texts...saying that he needed to reconsider his decision not to go.

i work on saturdays usually, and was not home yesterday when an elder (who tried to pursuade my husband to quit dating me a year and a half ago) dropped by to tell him how great it was to see him at the memorial.

hubby is inactive and does not believe the jw's anymore (i'm 99% sure).

Thanks, I like the ex-lax idea. I've been trying to figure out why this is making me so anxious... "choosing Life"- I think you kinda hit the nail on the head. This is a man/elder who tried to make the love of my life break up with me and it's all in the name of "love". It makes me sick in my heart to know that he would stop at nothing to get my hubby back in the jws, which makes me feel nauseous and angry. I wish my husband could see that the guy is NOT all about caring and love...

I believe the questions were regarding df'ing mainly. Anyway, the elder offered to drop by some info regarding the matter sometime this week while hubby and i are both at work and then stop by next Saturday to actually discuss the info. Here is my question: should I insist on being present while they are meeting with my husband? Its driving me crazy to think of them coming here while I'm working....but at the same time, my husband's on his own journey with this. I've been inactive for ten years and he's only been inactive for 1 1/2.

Did you feel "Stoopid" when going out in service?

man, i always felt like a complete idiot!!

Ever since I was a young child, I used to feel tight in my stomach and nauseous with headaches because I felt weird. I thought I knew it was the "truth" but I still felt very uncomfortable, especially seeing children in my class and they'd ask what I was doing. I remember being at the door and a man said to my mom "how can you make your children do this?! at 9 in the morning dragging them out here?!!!" I felt so sad for my mom and felt like I was being persecuted by the worldly. Now I am ever so grateful he said that.

Memorial Thursday: why am I still getting an invitation?

why does my mother still give me a memorial invitation even though i don't go?

I was shocked (and HaPPY!) that nobody actually invited me and my hubby to the memorial. I knew its coming up tomorrow and nobody (except one sincere jw woman who I've always liked). it came up with my two sisters but they didnt actually invite me (I believed that they seriously HEARD me a year or two ago when I firmly said that I didnt believe in the bible so why would I go to the memorial?)..... BUT!......dun dun DUNnnnnnn.....guess who came and knocked on my door yesterday afternoon. my dad and another guy. I could feel my whole body cringe and I wanted to push him off our porch when he handed me the invite. When he said "do you think you and _______ will be able to come?" I said "I seriously doubt it. Thanks. I know you gotta do what you gotta do, but we're not comin'." and then I shut the door and wanted to beat something i was so angry! How could he pester me even though I've TOLD him to knock it off?????! But then I realized, its only because he truly loves me and cannot give up hope...its all he's got, which is really sad

Hey, whats wrong with Smurfs???

i was baptized in early 90s and live in eastern europe.. from your comments i noticed, that some time in the past jws had a problem with smurfs... like being afraid of or avoiding ... i never heard anything about that in my dub life... .

so is there some story behind that?

did you play with smurfs as kids?

I was absolutely not allowed to watch the Smurfs because of those rumors. Its so funny looking back and hearing that story of the child who brought the smurf to the KH and it got demonized and walked out. Craziness.
