Introduction

well i have been watching and reading long enough.

i have posted a couple of times but never told anything about myself so here goes.. i have been df'd for at least 30 years.

always had doubts even of the existance of god let alone one that could and would be so vengefull towards.

i know this article was brought up with respect to the statement it contains regarding the fact that religion should not divide a family.

i finally got to read it and i found something more interesting a few paragraphs earlier.

the article states:.

hahaha...I'm good, dont fret.i'm still laughing about my other thread where that TwoFeet person made me sound like a blonde with pigtails holding a little chihuahua in a purse from Hollywood, California. This article and the other folk's comments are just astounding/nauseating to me. And I cannot wait to read the other articles too, about driving tips and how the kids can share their faith

Oooooomigosh, my heart cant take anymore of this. Aaack! I cannot believe this thread and the other one about how religion should not divide people. Ohhhhh, this is too good. I really cannot wait for this magazine to be lying around at my parent's house. I've gotta fight the urge to have an "apostate-like" attitude, its gonna be hard not to do.

i really enjoy reading all the threads on here and think you're swell folks.

but with all the anonymity, its still kinda lonely to not "know" who you are.

The "Daily Text" a mini Brainwash before breakfast? YAWN!

i hate the damn daily text!

i would wake up tired, looking for coffee and some eggs after a party night and my mum or wife would say "first lets read the daily text".......so not in the mood!

it's like a mini brainwash in case you forget your a witness later in the day.. remember whaen it came with the yearbook attached?

Now... How do I stop thinking about this...

ok... this is marketman (a.k.a ptucker) and you have all been very helpful in your previous postings.

now, maybe someone can give me some advice on how to stop thinking about jw doctrines, jehovah, and everything else associated with this situation.. i wake up thinking about it... i go to sleep thinking about it... i thought this was it... i thought this was the spiritual direction i needed even though i am questioning every aspect of it now.

yesterday i went to a bible service at another church and i enjoyed it a lot but i kept thinking "what if this is wrong... what if jehovah is the answer..." i need to stop thinking about it... can anyone provide insight on how some of you mustered through.

It's kinda like quitting smoking. You have to just realize that it is something unhealthy that simply does not fit into your life for the sake of your health and happiness (TRUE happiness, not "satans happiness"). Have you read Steven Hassan's Book called Combatting Mind Control? It doesnt make mention of the Witnesses but speaks about what a cult is. It makes you realize that the jw's are NOT one of a kind and, in fact, there are SOOoooo many other religions very similar to it. Kinda makes you feel less alone. Plus you should keep coming back to jwn! Best wishes.

Aude, Hey there! I dont really want to dredge up my past either...but my past is part of my present. I'm not looking to do any jw bashing, if that's what you mean. I'm just hoping to actually become friends with people who can relate, ya know? and not just anonymously, like on here (althought "here" is great too!). I will look more into having a meet-up....thanks!
