Donations = iPads?
by Emery ini had my co visit not too long ago and in our conversation on technology (i'm an apple guy) he stated that within the last year the branch supplied all traveling overseers with free ipads to use.
he then proceeded to tell me he doesnt personally bring his to the meetings as not to stumble anyone (or maybe because we might see his high score on temple run).
i was pretty surprised by this and began wondering... are jw donations towards the world wide work going to ipads for do's and co's to use in their spare time?

But if they saw a CO or DO using one it would be no time before everyone would have to have one.
Bingo! Maybe wts can get a discount for r&f so they can buy Ipads cheaper through them, r&f save a little, wts makes a little, wouldn't that be a wonderful provision from Jehoova? They may have to do something about the problem of donations and getting taxed on income but I'm sure they can find a way around that. It wouldn't take much to sell the Ipad idea to r&f, if COs and DOs really got these from wts then you know they will be pushing this in the near future. Maybe they're learning something from scientology?
This would mean, r&f don't need to print off pdfs, wts doesn't need to print as much mags and the donations can continue to flow in towards www. With time, publishing facilities can be almost eliminated with just a couple necessary ones supplying mags to third world countries and donations used towards higher yielding investments instead of investing in a dying business of printing. As donations as shrinking now anyways, it's a good way to move assets around.

Memorial attendance DECLINED by 2.4% in the US from 2011 to 2012!
by sir82 inthe september km is out, here is the thread pointing to it:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/228224/1/2012-september-kingdom-ministry.
of particular note is the "highlight" on page 4, announcing the attendance at the memorial in the usa.. the 2012 yearbook notes the memorial attendance in 2011 was 2.563,318, while in 2012, per the september 2012 km, it was 2,502,055 -- a decline of 2.4%.. .

What are the factors affecting the decline?
Old age
TATT (thanks internet)
less people sucked in (thanks internet)
As the JW populates ages with less having kids and even less kids staying in, the trend should be formed if this isn't the beginning there will be one soon. The only thing that can make wts grow like they did 20 years ago is another global event, economic or war where many half ass believers run back to "mother" because the end is near. Without some event scaring these into returning wts should began a nice decline, which means they either peaked or ar in the process of topping.
When I still went to meetings, it was really rare to see studies at regular meetings, baptisms of recruiters were very rare! I imagine it's even harder to convince public today that the end is near and that generation overlaps.
Does anyone have stats for Canada?

A petition that really works! Change the law to bring the WTS to its knees!
by Diest ini know that most people on here dislike the idea of a petition, but i think i finally realized a petition that could really work.
in the candice conti case she was allowed to start a civil lawsuit that was way past the statute of limitations.
because california has changed the their civil statute of limitations in sexual abuse cases.. so how do petitions come in?

How about a petition regarding changing definition of charitable organizations? If an organization doesn't do anything charitable for the public good why should the public taxpayer lose out through paying higher taxes to cover costs of those who don't have to. That's where it would hurt the wts the most! If they can open the kitchen to the public, great. If they can go and build a home for needy, great. If they don't want to do anything to the benefit of the public why should they stay tax exempt. They shouldn't be called a charity when they're not one!
With many western nations having huge deficit and debt problem, this may be one avenue that may make politicians rethink the definition of charities as to who should pay tax or whoshould be tax exempt.

Future Caleb animated shorts may be released on jw.org instead of DVD's
by OneDayillBeFree inthat's the latest i heard at the current convention i'm attending now.
it came straight from the bethel representative.
i was in the administration department when i heard him say it.. part of the reason for this according to him will be to reduce distribution cost as it would be virtually eliminated in countries like the u.s, canada.

Jehovah is progressive god, barely keeping up with the 21st century. For dubs it's not that they are cutting cost because donations for www are down but because it makes a lot of sense. Expanding property is obviously essential part of pure worship, and if the end comes before the building is finished then they will finish it on the other side of Armageddon.
Credit cards, makes sense, broders don't carry cash as they use to and in the world where you get mugged on every corner it simply makes sense not to carry cash!
Internet, they never said internet was bad as long as you connected to wts approved sites - jw.org watchtower.com! It's not internet that's evil but all sites non wts related! WTS never said internet was evil, only people misunderstood what they were saying. Now spiritual vomit will flow so much easier and faster and directly to dub homes.
One thing we can be sure of is that wts will NOT have a forum for discussions, they may have QFR section with questions from Andre and answers that are mind numbing.
The cult was always like that but when we were under mind control we simply didn't notice any of this shit so neither do believers.

JW won over France regarding taxation.

Quote from OP site
"The Association of Jehovah's Witnesses claimed the French government was trying to repress their activities by imposing in 1998 a tax assessment that amounted in total to 45 million euros ($56 million), covering the period from 1993 to 1996, though France seized only a fraction of that amount."
So did France seize only 4.5m Euros which they are to return (which means they have to return all they seized) or did they seize more but are to return only 4.5m????

Was There Ever A Poster Here That Realy Was a Watchtower Spy?
by minimus insince some believe that watctower regularly observes this site, did you ever know of a watchtower double agent here?.

If they spy I don't see them having active believing r&f dubs doing that work. They may have upper cronies do this sort of work who know full well that wts is a lie and don't care to be here, or they may hire external agency to watch for certain items and report to wts. We could have people like apologists who claim not to be jws but feel that wts is the truth to be spies.
If they had active Bethalites doing spying on boards like this one, these sincere dubs would soon be on our side of the fence, which would be a great liability for wts so I don't see wts techies spying on us. Hiring an external agency makes a lot of sense, since these would be paid to watch for "copyright" infringements and/or other wts demands as in who the active members may be. They could provoke others to converse to see reactions and such.
If they watch ejw sites in this manner they surely watch jw sites as well since we're already out and really mean no income for them, but the jwtalk forums is what would matter to wts most. After all, if active dubs start having sort of doubts or issues, these would be great issues to address in the future wts publication - "uhhh the right food at the proper time for some.""Just what I needed" Also, wts may not care about dubs too much but they do care enough not to lose too many as that is their bread and butter after all.

Watchtower Society Fate?
by mind blown infrom what i'm seeing on other sites many are now coming out of the woodwork to file charges against the wts.. in all reality with the conti case payout, could the wts and individual congregations (also having to pay) really sustain these blows?
and if so how would this play out?
they're not as rich as rc religion.

What's funny is that they are creating a hierarchy that supposedly didn't exist before as we were told that elders/ms were simply more spiritually minded individuals whos title didn't really made a distinction between others. Plus RC lay class aren't considered ministers while all of jws are which also is a huge liability for them since they all represent wts and this fact is found in their publications!
As wts tries to further themselves from r&f will their baptismal #2 question change down the road to further put the wedge between the corporation and its members?
