You want to stay Christian, Bible is all you need. You don't need religion to guide you as it's all same BS of people controlling people. If you need an answer to a question you may research it through other publications and don't just take the first "answer" you find but compare different views and if you can't come to a conclusive answer to satisfy you leave it as that for if you can't understand something other may not either but push their own understanding at others as all religions do - WT$ is prime example.

Confusion on what to believe, also guilt.
by izzysma ini was raised a witness up until i was 16, never was baptized, and now that i have my own child now i am having a really hard time with wanting her to know what religion is.
as i have gotten older, wiser i am doubting the truth even more...actually i never doubted it until just a few years ago.
being a witness is the only religion i know so i still have that sense of loyalty to it even though it's not what i choose to be.

My Assignment For Ray Franz
by sacolton intoday i met the widow of ed dunlap, who was of the watchtower writing committee and a great thinker.
he found that the watchtower was not in harmony with the scriptures, so they disfellowshipped him.
when ray franz was disfellowshipped, it was ed who took him in and gave ray a job and a place to stay.

Peter Gregerson provided Ray with a place to stay and work. When Ray had a meal with his landlord/boss/and friend WT$ scum used the new "light" to accuss him of associating with an disassociated member who was to be viewed as disfellowshipped according to a future WT rag which "JW"s recieved a month or so prior to it's placement date. IMO Goober Body knew of his association and to remove him from the WT$ they passes the new BS light to it's members to not associate with any disassociated members and put them on the same level as disfellowshipped. Peter disassociated himself because at the time he knew they would DF him for his views on certain beliefs and DAs was a better choice since at the time of his DA letter he would still be allowed to talk to his family and friends within WT$ but soon after WT$ changed that arangement and most likely it was to push Ray into a corner or to push him out of their circle of control.

Where did these unoffical beliefs/standards come from?
by highdose ini've been doing some reasoning about all the jw teachings i've been taught as i grew up.
one of them was the belief that if you were baptised young that it would be a protection for you.
i questioned this at the time as i thought that instead it would make you prey to opposition from satan at a young age.

Individual "JW"s have their own set of unofficial beliefs and this may be one of them. When one believes that all will die except "JW"s you imagine your kids need to be baptised at some point. When you hear that so many nations were wiped out entirely with their little ones and you hear that perants can only bring their kids to the other side of Armageddon only to certain degree some perants may reason that their kids need to be baptized since the obviously believe that WT$ is the truth. WT$ has implied a lot of BS and followers ate it up and contributed to growth of WT$ speculation to the point of many viewing these speculations are facts taught by the WT$, but the organization never discouraged these ideas but in fact has incouraged by using such fanatical examples in their demonstrations at CA and DAs. End of the world in 1975 would probably fall in that category as well, WT$ never said directly the end would be in 1975 but a very possibility existed and we know how people inerpreted that and sold homes and pioneered and later WT$ used these dumb nuts as fine examples of loyalty to Jehovah when in fact they should have reproved these for doing ecerything for a set date that these individuals assumed was 100%. So is baptism of kids by individual perants. More perants belief a certain idea the more likely the entire congregation will under a certain influence.

I thought it was a really good movie and ya I thought they used bible theme as well. I also thought they tied the aliens and 2012 Mayan calander end of the world all into one movie. Obviously my wife didn't finish the movie since the aliens looked too much like angels so to "JW"s this movie must have too much demon influence - I may have done the same as her just 2 years ago but I think I'm over the superstitious crap. The movie had lots of action and well written but it does get cheezy about 2/3 into the movie.

JWs are like every other people with the exception with being controlled by GB. What I mean, there are good and bad, truely humble and truely haughty. You can find these people everywhere. Spouses fall in a same category, some will be better than others and few may not be totally controlled by GB as others may be. You will be treated well if you go to KH but you would also be treated in a nice way by other religious group who meet in a small groups.
Problems usually surface if you question the leaders (GB) and when you state your opinion on the BS that WTS teaches. That is when the witnesses will start viewing you as an opposer or an apostate thanks to GB indoctrination. A spouse depanding on soundness of mind may prefer the advise of strangers(GB) to that of his/her unbelieving spouse. That is the cult mentality that you will notice. I guess Roman Catholic church would have fallen in the cult mentality in the middle ages where you would be burned at the stake for questioning the pope of church and that is similar mentality that prevails within WTS religion.
Hopefully what I wrote above is a fair description of "JW"s which aren't that much different than others really except when it comes to question their beliefs and their leaders.

Jehovah explained by WT
by PSacramento incan anyone confirm what i read on another website that the aid to bible undertsanding, 1971 pages 884-885, admit that the term jehovah is a combination of yhwh and the words adonia and elohim and that scholars generally favour "yahweh" as the correct pronunciation?.
is this correct?.

IMO WT$ is right on the issue of using Jehovah as an English word. Everyone has to realize that in other countries the word isn't translated Jehovah but may vary greatly in pronounciation. Yehwah maybe closer to what it should have been but really it's a translation issue which Jehovah became more common in english language. There are people who come from different countries and don't use english equivelant but stick with their original pronounciation and personally I find that annoying as hell when they can just easily go by enlish equivelant when there is one. Similar with name Jehovah. In a similar manner if I moved to another country I would use their equvelant for my name if there was one and if there wasn't I would keep the english pronounciation and that's the case with Jehovah. JMHO

BREAKING MY SILENCE EVERYONE READ!!!
by D8TA inas ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.
this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.
therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

Reniaa has either no life or is multiple personalities posting here. If anyone looks at her posts it's amazing how often during a period of a day she posts. Hell, she could be a WTS troll(s) deceptive enough not to make it too obvious for others to cath on. Anyone with a brain who has been long enough and examined WTS history and doctrine would not defend WTS's lies like reniaa does and obviously reniaa twists things in a similar manner that WTS does. Not everyone on the net is who they appear and I'm not certain about reniaa being a so called JW individual who has nothing better to do than post here throughout the entire day trying to defend WTS' BS.

Michael Jackson's Death Is Exposing Jehovah's Witnesses In A HUGE Way!!!
by minimus inif you read comments made regarding mj's death, there are tons of people talking about his religion.
the fact that he was a jw that disassociated himself, is giving bloggers all sorts of ammunition regarding the rotten witness religion.
jws are trying to defend themselves and their religion and outsiders are clearly seeing how effed up jws really are.. good..

Orbison:
I'm not going to say MJ was a pedophile or he wasn't since I don't have enough info but I can definitly say he was a wierdo! But if you have any factual information that you would like to share with the rest of us please do, I wouldn't mind seeing the 200million payout that you speak of in some sort of document(s). Saying that you heard so and so say....doesn't mean anything since I've heard that JC returned in 1914 and that doesn't mean anything to me either :)

QUESTION FOR EVERYBODY!!!
by whathehadas inwhether you are a witness or have been.
you have probably thought of this before.
i ask myself this one, how perfect is perfect?
-
diamondiiz
IMO perfection that was lost is a perfect spiritual way of following God's requirements not that Adam and Eve were perfect in a sense that WTS presents. If all humans would be perfect in all things all would be like robots. I don't believe Jesus needed to be perfect as a carpenter nor was a best looking man at the time but was perfect in following the spiritual standard required. This is JMHO

Of course living forever would be good if one wouldn't have to age after certain period of time and would stay healthy. There is so much I would love to learn and have ability to enjoy but none of the imaginary dream that WTS presents.
