Take the Kids Exposed to JW Stuff to the Disney Movie, "TANGLED." Great Message For Them
by OnTheWayOut ini took my wife to this movie and pried her a bit on the way home to make her think about how sometimes the people we trust are our enemies.. the disney movie, tangled, is their spin on the repunzel story.
i'll try not to spoil their movie and still make the point of why this is a great movie to take a jw to, the older and closer to adulthood the better.
you total adults with jw adult loved ones should drag them to it.. the villain takes repunzel away from her life (as a baby) and keeps her in "the tower" for her own evil purposes.

The stupid current Governing Body
by possible-san inin my forum, an active japanese jw (my friend) taught me what he studied in the meeting recently.. that is the meeting on sunday (12/19) a few days ago.. in the material they studied on that day, it is written like this.. "the greek word translated honor in the bible conveys the sense of esteem, value, preciousness.
(luke 14:10).
yes, those we honor are precious, valuable to us.".

Being Hellinas I really laugh the GB's translations of the Hellenic language. Those guys are dangerous, specially when they twist the meaning of the Hellenic words to fit their stupid doctrines....

The Bethel "Generation of 1914"
by cabasilas insome older former bethelites may remember these folks from the cover of a 1984 watchtower:.
this was published during a time while the watchtower society was waging war against the "apostasy" that had started in 1980. one of the issues at stake was the year 1914. these older bethelites were photographed to give tangible proof that the "generation of 1914" would not pass away.
now, nearly 27 years later, they likely have all passed away (along with that generation).. there is a listing of some of the names of these bethelites up at a blog article at this link:.

Same old crap from the WT. I was a teenager back then, when that issue came out. Now I'm in my early 40's and still the end is near.....

Does anyone knows WorldVentures?
by JustHuman14 inwell a friend of mine introduce me worldventures, a traveling company based in us that sells holidays destination in low prices for their members.
so he wanted to recruit me in worldventures and become a representative.
there was meeting and a video presentation (well everyone looked happy, because in just few months they found the perfect job that gives them money and prestige).

Well a friend of mine introduce me WorldVentures, a traveling company based in US that sells holidays destination in low prices for their members. So he wanted to recruit me in WorldVentures and become a representative. There was meeting and a video presentation (well everyone looked happy, because in just few months they found the perfect job that gives them money and prestige). It looked like to me a meeting of JW's that everyone smiles, shows happy because they found the PERFECT job and they earn a LOT of money.
So I would appreciate if anyone knows regarding this WorldVentures and how reliable it is, so give some comments

So...how EVIL was Theodore Jaracz??
by Joliette ini'm reading crisis of conscience right now and even raymond franz mentioned in his book that ted jaracz didnt vote during governing body sessions based off of 'a gut feeling' like dan sydlik and lyman swingle did, but voted based off of having 'a mean spirit (dont quote me on that) but bascially got an overall vibe that ted jaracz was not a very nice man.
and whats this about the child abuse policy that he enforced?
what did he do that made every ex-jw's in america hate him?

My shameful reaction to the BBC Panorama...
by highdose ini just watched the bbc panorama program about jw's and their child abuse problems on you tube.. i havn't seen it since it was first aired.
i was watching it and recalling what my reaction was when i saw it for the first time as a commited devout jw.. before the program aired the congregation called a extrodinary meeting in which a letter was read out from bethal.
they seemed to back up every point they made by a scripture read out by another brother also on the platform.

Well the reaction was normal as a brainwashed JW...More and more JW's realize that they are brainwashed

GB member David Splane says Jehovah had already chosen the organization in 1916
by slimboyfat inin the new dvd governing body member david splane discusses the fact that the bible students did not simply disappear after russell died in 1916. he says this is because jehovah had already chosen the organization to do his work.. this is not a work of man, this is a work of jehovah god.
it's evident that jehovah had already chosen this organization, because of the faithfulness and the sincerity of the men behind it.
it's obvious that jehovah had already chosen this organization to get his work done.

The new DVD is just another effort by the WT to white wash their past....I have seen it today and it is really interesting to see how they change their past history

Disrespect of the Bible
by brotherdan ini am going to get a lot of flack for this post, but i need to do it.
i want to preface this by saying that i don't judge any of you and i believe in the right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, including your freedom to not practice one.. however, i'm finding a trend among some ex jws here.
notice the word "some".

I understand why some become agnostic. Personally I'm a Christian but hold a lot of doubts in several stories of the Old Testament. But I take in my life the Teachings of Jesus that do have a universal message for all: Love...
Regarding disrespect of the Bible I would say that no matter how we feel for religion we should respect what others believe as "Holy", either is Christianity, Muslim, Hindu, Budhism, since for another person what we considered as stupid he might consider it as logic.
You can't just sit and argue with everyone on this plannet regarding faith and religion and if the religion that someone might believe is true or false. Just accept what they believe, and as indivituals we have our own mind regarding faith.
Personally I wouldnt' waste a minute trying to pesruade someone for religion...
