this is very difficult to write (forgive me for any spelling mistake, i am not a native english speaker).. i cannot tell my complete story on this board - i eventually will, once i have broken the last "link in the chain" that has kept me captive to the borg.

i can't tell my story, because.....basically i will be known.....as a more or less "famous" jw..... i have been lurking this site for many years, wrote here under another name - this eventually was found out and i had to do "damage containment".

i had to "go back" and tow the party line....all my family (extended and close) are witnesses, all my "friends" and even work & business relationships are jw.

You are not alone. Many people in this forum have gone through the same difficulties like the ones you are facing now, including my self.

My story it is very similar like yours, and I'm sure there are thousands that look alike in the WT world. I was born in the "truth" as a son of an elder, went to school with all the social issues I had to face being a 6 years old JW kid. Teenager was even worst, plus I left high school to become a pioneer since the end was so close and the "famous generation" that it wouldn't pass. Then I was pioneer for almost 10 years, got married (I guess my wife needed a status, since I was pioneer and MS and son of a CO!!!) No need to mention that I had the chance to become a promising musician but I never did since it wasn't appropriate to seek glory for myself!!! As you guess I preferred to work as a cleaner in order to gain time for "God's will". So eventually I was low paid, and trying to raise a family. Since my family became bigger I started working a second job, and then a third. But still it wasn't good enough to support my family needs, especially when you are not an educated person, and having no degrees. I could see my classmates and worldly friends having good jobs and getting paid, enjoying their life and I was in a deep shit...

I started having my doubts when again I had a business opportunity to start my own job (something with the media), and then the "elders" mess up (as usual) and discouraged me for doing so (actually I was told that if I continued with that job I would loose all of my privileges). On the other hand I could see a number of wealthy JW's expanding their jobs and their income off course, or having a double life and still enjoy a good status in the Org.

At the age of 33 I have gone through a detailed research of the WT, starting with their old books. From Russell to Rutherford and then: "heavens opened before my eyes". I did this research long before going on web, since I wanted to be sure that I wouldn't get blinded by Satan. I have found this website in 2001( I was posting as justhuman) but I had to re-login with a slight change since I couldn't get back my old account when Simon changed the site)

My wife is fanatic JW, actually she was the one who turned me in for apostasy to the elders of the WT, not once but twice!!! I faded out for 6 years, but I guess that wasn't enough for her. She is trying to keep the Org clean!!! So the second time I decided to cut my chains and I was disfellowshiped. The result was even worst since I had to leave my house. I do have children like you in young age, but I'm telling them that the coin has 2 sides. Since they were young when I left WT they don't remember me being a JW and that is good. I always try to point them that our Creator is a superior being of love and it will never harm anyone. They have their questions and I talk with them, since I have every right to do that.

Leaving WT it is not a simple task to do having in mind that WT is a mind destructive cult. But life still goes on after your exit. I have found new friends that they care about me. I sometimes I see in the street long time JW's friends and relatives and all of them they turn their heads when they see me. Life begins when you leave behind WT, there is an entire new world to explore. Most of all make new friends and enjoy life. I started traveling in other places, finding my old classmates, I even got a big motorbike so I could go for rides with my friends. I have gone through self destructive period my self like you, but that's history. WT has stolen my best years but I would not allow them to continue destroying my life, or even worsted to commit suicide. It is not worth it. Go on with your life, love your child and if you think that starting a new life is hard, it is not so.

evidently, since we are so close to end of this system of things, god has seen it fitting to fill the final spots held open for the 144,000.. there.

simple, elegant, and doesn't require an overhaul of the 144,000 jw belief..

A number of factors-including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalance-might cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the heavenly calling. We thus have noway of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know. The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones.

So that's really a freaking joke guys by the WT, telling to the entire World and 7 million JW's that, the increasing number of partakers is caused by LUNATICS So I can imagine the look of JW's when they see a young person (35-40 year old) to start and partake from the emblems: "Look at that poor brother, he is gone nuts!!! He is partaking"...

I don't know for how long this insanity by the GB will go on, but they have lost control complete. They don't know the number of the anointed ones, plus they are claiming that this a personal issue between Jesus and the annointed persons, end on the other hand they are telling us that those persons might be crazy!! !

Kingdom Hall Librarys : Can you still Veiw Older Publications ?eg:Russells,Rutherfords books ?? or even books from the ~50s

i`m just curious if such books as "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god " " let your will be done on earth" etc.

are still available in the kingdom hall libraries and if they are then that should be a wake up call to all jehovah`s witnesses.. if they are not then that should be an even bigger wake up call to all jehovah`s witnesses.

the bible has never been altered in 2000 years under the direction of holy spirit.

Cofty I was fortunate enough to have Booze Jo books and Russel's at my dad's library...

As far as I know they don't keep before 1970 publications....they are apostate teachings!!! Soon they will keep only the last 15 years

i'm thinking way outside the box here.... i looked up my thread title before starting this thread and guess what??.

no one appears to have ever considered this question before.... i've seen far, far, far too many people of european/british isles/african/american extraction defending this regional middle-eastern 'god', without realizing that their ancestors would never have willingly consented to give up their own deities to worship this interloper thrust upon them, usually at the point of a roman sword... or occasionally for trading advantages, as in the case of many of the heathen viking - norsemen.... so.

You have to be more clear with that statement since:

1. The Bible it was created in the 4th Century A.D with the 76 books Hebrew and Greek Scriptures

2. Basically the Hebrew Scriptures are a mixure of myths along with the history of the Israelites. Some misogynists Hebrew nomads, borrowed myths from Sumerians and Egyptians and created a new religion

3. Unfortunately we have the 3 worlds basic religions Jewish, Christianity, Islam, to have their foundation upon myths

I walked out of an Elder's Meeting

well here goes... i apologize in advance if this turns into a long and disjointed rant, but i just have to begin typing in order to keep from exploding.

i realize that what im about to say could seriously jeopardize my anonymity, but i think ive reached the point that i just dont care.

i want this to be over.. let me explain what caused me to rip up a letter and get up and walk out in the middle of an elders meeting two weekends ago.. our boe has been embroiled in a nasty fight for the past 2 years over a certain brothers business dealings.

I would agree with Black Sheep, since when I left WT my family was broken. I do have kids in there and I managed to keep the lines of communication open, despite the fact that their mother is fully brainwashed JW.

It is a hard thing but WT is just an evil cult that tornes appart human lifes

Waking Up From a 34 Year Slumber.

july 11, 2011 will be 34 years since i was baptised as one of jw's.

the sleeping pill i took was in the form of them providing the information that made the bible come alive with the truth and insisting that they go by the bible not adding or taking away from it.

i had negative experiences from local brothers from time to time, however i excused them as part of being imperfect.

Just to say welcome the club dude. I was in for 33 years, I was born a JW got baptized at 18(little bit late!!!) but in my early 30's I left and I'm glad.
