  Canopy around Earth before flood ?

  i'm sure i didn't dream this but as a jw child i seem to recall.

  this explanation for the flood:.

  before the flood it didn't rain;there was a huge canopy of water.

  Do you think that maybe when they drill to the bottom of the antarctic that they will know how long it has been snowing there?

  Flood Legends "Proof" of Global Flood...

  the march 1, 2002 watchtower contains a couple of articles on noah's flood and the application of this legend to "our day".

  thrust of the articles is first to show that the flood was a real, earthwide event, and then to scare ignorant readers into accepting the jw message by claiming that our world is about to undergo a similar divine punishment.

  pretty standard fare for long time jw observers.. in the past the watchtower society has published extensive material purporting to show that a global flood occurred a few thousand years ago.

  Anewperson it is interesting to read your long reply to alanf.
  I have been trying to piece together the ancient history surrounding the flood for a while and every now and then a bit more is added to the story.
  One day, when scientists do a lot more research, the whole truth will be able to be pieced together.
  Alanf and others while knowing that science is still in the process of discovery, talks on some subjects as though all the evidence is in.
  Yet on other subjects the answer is that science will find the answer eventually.
  I think we can all use the last argument and should not be jumping to hasty conclusions in areas which are still under investigation.
  I hope by what I said that I have not taken away our right to faith in God's word.

  How sad H2O has become!

  ihardly ever look at h2o now that all the interesting posters are here, but i took a look today for old time's sake: how utterly changed the place has become!

  a handful of messages on the front page, many from the evangelical (or worse, the joshua92's) crowd.

  where is the volume from the old days?

  It is sad about H2o but inevitable considering the work that they are trying to do. They want to attract JWs as part of their users and also want to be on search engines around the world. A heavier hand in the moderation it seems is required for this even though recent moderation form without comment was over the top and not appropriate even according to H2o admin.
  H2o now will always be a smaller (albeit older) sister to this site because of what they are trying to do and as people some to H20 and find out about this site then many will no doubt gravitate here.
  This site, as far as I can see, is just about at it's limit in terms of the number of people and size and speed that can be happily tolerated. H2o as it is and into the future will be slower and more people friendly in that respect, but H2o will need an influx of visitors to keep the site viable.
  I'm sure that there are some here (even among the professed H20 haters) who would be happy also on H2o with better software facilities.
  Considering that the 2 sites are sisters, even if they have differing functions, friendship between the sites and posters, and a cross fertilisation is inevitable and should be encouraged.
  This seems to be a good way of producing and maintaining a healthy micro environment of JW discussion sites that suit the needs of all.
  The new site is meant to be user friendly to all types of posters in it's various forums and the moderation on the main forum is meant to be at a minimum.

  there is a fallacy of logic that is so common that few people realize that it is, indeed, a fallacy of logic: the fallacy by appeal to nature.. one argument against homosexuality goes something like this:.

  the natural use of the reproductive organs is obviously to make children.

  using these organs in a way that cannot produce children is unnatural and thus ethically wrong.. .

  Nobody has to prove anything. You believe what you want and I will believe what I want. There is no burden of proof because the reasons for believing one thing or the other are not based on logic or solid evidence.

  PS However sperm seems meant for a vagina and uterus and vagina and uterus meant for sperm and baby making. This ofcourse does not mean that there are not other uses to which these things can be put.

  this was the wild west where a mans mettle was measured by how many drinks he could consume and still maintain a lightning draw and trigger finger.

  Hopalong Cassidy was/is definitely faster on the draw. I know cause that's me. Start shakin fearless.

  I remember the overalls too. I could get them undone but not done up again. This was a pain when sharing private examinations with friends. (Consenting children)

  50 years ago respected textual critic ernest cadman colwell created an apparatus of 64 scriptures to determine which is the best new testament.
