I have allergies too... Allergic to pet hair, cigarette smoke, pollen, some foods like kiwi... Yet I'm dating a smoker and have pets and live in an area that is sunny more than half the year (lots of mowing going on). You take an allergy pill, you find natural remedies, etc.
You don't write someone off just because they have a pet and you're allergic. Sorry, but I think you're being kind of a wimp. This is the 21st century and they actually do make medications for allergies as well as there being natural remedies you can take for them.
As for your half-faced lady, if it feels wrong, it probably is. I met ONE guy off craigslist and swore I'd never do it again. He lied about his age, his weight, his job...pretty much everything. Craigslist is great if you're looking for a threesome or a one-nighter...not a relationship. Online dating sites are filled with people who can't get laid or can't get a relationship in real life...usually for very good reasons. I met my ex husband on a JW dating site. Look where it got me.
I met my BF online, HOWEVER it was not on a dating site. It was on a message board like this one where people just talked and shared opinions on topics. We became friends and neither was looking for anything else. We just had a lot in common and were enjoying having a friend.
My advice is to just quit looking. Going to a bar is only going to get you a girlfriend who likes to go to bars. Make friends with people (doesn't matter if it's online or in person...just MAKE FRIENDS). Stop looking for a relationship. It's when you let your guard down and stop putting on airs for people that they get to see the real you and that's when good solid relationships form.
Also, I agree with mrsjones. You're looking for a woman on craigslist...that doesn't scream "picky" to me, it screams "desperate". Perhaps if you lowered your standards for what you want a woman to look like physically it would open more doors. So she's not a size 2. So she doesn't have DD cup boobs. You never know the package your best friend and soul mate will come in, so don't look at people with an ideal in mind. Look at them for the person they are. Get to know people for themselves, not what they look like. You never know what might happen.
