victim hung on to faith .
by mike o'brien.
dylan boe held on to his faith until the end.. the 19-year-old was the only one of four young friends who wasn't immediately killed in a two-vehicle crash near melville, saturday.. like preston presiloski, adam anderson and elisha stasiuk, boe was a jehovah's witness.
One of the victims in this was my nephew. And I knew the other kids well.
I was thinking of him this evening and Googled his name. This post came up.
I want to tell you that the hospital staff knew Dylan wasn't going to make it. His objecting to blood meant little......a blood transfusion would not have saved him.
The families of each of these kids were never the same afterwards.
One of the fathers was an elder and subsequently resigned. I remember him saying that he had counselled many families over the years about the resurrection, but the experience of losing his son caused him to doubt his own beliefs. He and his wife barely went to meetings after this.
The family of the girl had previously lost a young son to a hit and run accident and they disappeared off the face of the earth after this happened to their daughter.
Dylan's family was practically inactive at the time ( his father is not a JW ) and they remained inactive after he died.
Adam's family was considered "weak" at the time and is still pretty much inactive.
This was nothing more than a terrible tragedy.
how bout a nice layout, predicting every crazy insane thread that will appear on this website in the year 2012?
(1.5 months away).
down to who will post it, and what it will say.
OBVES will predict the "end" at least 3 times in the next year.
i wasted my sunday yesterday attending the special a$$embly day.
i thought some of you might like to see some of the notes i took to keep myself amused/awake.. we had a guest speaker from the local old people's home bethel.
he seemed slightly senile.
His last talk was about encouraging the weak. I have an entire page of notes listing the reasons he gave that JWs are depressed. Felt depressed at the end of it myself.
There are ouija boards at school these days
for me, 1 peter 4;6 "for this is why the gospel was.
preached even to the dead, that though judged in.
the flesh like men, they might live in the spirit like god.".
Stephen!
So nice to see you again!

it's nice to have you here !
i found that this board was very supportive when i first got on it over 4 years ago .
i still find it supportive !
I don't come here as much anymore. When I do, it's just to see how you all are.....I've grown very fond of most of you!
And I come here to welcome newbies and (hopefully) support those leaving.
My recovery went very fast and I have a wonderful, happy life since leaving - but I know it's because of this site and ones like Mr. and Mrs. Flipper that I have come this far.

This thread is good because it includes a very important post by "mentallyfree31" on page 1.

We were the only bookstudy group out of 6 that had "Coffee Night' once a month.
I think they only allowed it because it was in the home of an elderly couple.
It wasn't long before they SHUT IT DOWN.
I mean, God Forbid we should have any fun.......

Tal, I would love to visit you! Les Iles were my first visit to the Maritimes and I loved it!
I passed my Rebel to the boat guy for this pic from Jamaica and it's great!
It shows how easy the "point and shoot" aspect of it is.
I have this blown up to 8x10 size (because it was one of the best days of my life ) and the resolution is still great.
