  A Thanksgiving Blessing

  gratitude comes easy when our lives are in order...when our bills are paid, the children are behaving, and our health is good.

  but our challenges are what bring the chance for transformations.

  and it is during our deepest pain that we can be most grateful, because we know our hardshipe will deliver a lesson that refines our character.

  so i'm getting mentally ready for the big un-thanksgiving celebration our extended jw family is planning for this friday.

  turkey and all the fixings of course, but a day late, and wt-approved.. almost inevitably at our big jw family gatherings (tm), someone will make a statement or observation along the lines of "armageddon's so close" or "we're in the last minutes of the last days", you know the drill.

  On the way out likes to take everything everyone says and anylize it to DEATH. Also he always there to share his criticizing thoughts to everyone. Hey while your "On the way out" don't let the door knob hit you on the ass!

  What are you Thankful for this year?

  in the spirit of thanksgiving, thought i ask what everyone is thankful for.. i am thankful for my family's good health and happiness, for the great friends i have, for my job that i absolutely love, for celebrating my 7th year of freedom this month from the wt publishing cult.. anyone else?.

  1) My Wife and Son.

  2) Our apartment we have lived in for 4 years now after being homeless for almost a year.

  3) Our Disneyland Vacation we were able to take this July

  4) Our Camping Vacation

  5) My brand new couch and chair

  6) My Car

  7)Our trip to the pumpkin patch farm

  8) Our "Good" neighbors

  9) My job. That rescued me from the streets and got me to where I am today.

  10) Good Friends

  11) Family Time

  12) Our Nintendo Wii family game night

  13) My 8th year wedding anniversay and Dinner Cruise.

  just remembered some insane old laws that were preached from the platform when i was in:.

  jazz: is a slang word for sex, therefore jazz is not for christians ( jw's).

  rock and roll: ditto it describes sex therefore is bad.

  we were taught you are just unconscience in a grave "hell".

  no burning fires or wonderful heaven where all our dreams come true.

  i never feel like i am going to heaven.

  In science we are taught energy cannot be destoryed or created just transformed from one type of energy to another. Our bodies have energy. When we die either the energy is dispersed into the universe or used to push up daisy's. Wheather we have some sort of consciences of this energy after our bodies expire is a question we wont know until we die.

  Phone Territory!

  well, couple days ago i got stuck with a brother doing phone territory!

  man, i hated that!

  i kept on wishing no one picks up the phone or it's a disconnected phone number or something.

  I was embarrased to go out in service especially when I was young. I lived in a small town and would always knock on the door of someone who went to my school. Then I'd get beat up for it the next day. At least if I did phone witnessing only the parents would pick up and I wouldn't be there for anyone to see. Although ultimately, I hate it all.

  What makes you happy?

  today i looked back on my old posts and realised almost everything i write of this board is negative.

  so i decided to post an experience i find makes me happy!

  first i should explain that i have a patio at the side of my home which borders a garden.

  HELP I need some ex-elders help for a phone conversation with my JW parents

  ok this is the deal: i was dfd 14 years ago, i was just planning to go back last year.

  i had planned to come back with a clean conscience so i started to study and research the wt to prove to myself this was the truth, the elders had met with me to suggest me to submit a letter of reinstatement, in the same meeting i told them i had some questions that i needed help with before i was to go back.

  they said they were gonna answer those questions after i was reinstated :-d so i went by myself and started doing my research.

  I went in feild service today

  so i'm stopping at the local pizza shop this morning .

  when i see 4 jw's dressed up in their wt uniforms about a block away, just pointing at houses, for about 5 minutes.

  so they break up and this one 21 year old kid is standing at this door.
