Mom - Why do you treat me like the damned!

not that my mom would ever visit this site - but i have to just vent.

last night my mom promised she would meet me at home to help me move some furniture.

she made it seem like it was a tremendous deal and the only reason why she would be by would be because she had something else to do in the neighbourhood.

I too, have never been jw so I know this may sound pointless, but please know I sincerely mean it:

I am so sorry to hear how you have been treated by your family. It actually makes me feel ill. You do NOT deserve this kind of treatment. Just know there are others who do care for you...or if you have just gotten out...that there WILL be friends and family who sincerely care regardless of what you believe. People here on this site are a good place to start.

Zenpunk, I used to have snakes. I had a speckled king snake named Maurice for 10 years! He died of a heart attack going thru his water dish trying to shed.....old age I guess.

Now we have 3 parrots.

White Capped Pionus-male-Kazoo Raised him with baby formula in a dropper. 40 word vocab. Will be 11 in August. Can live 40 years.

African Grey (Congo)-Female Melanie Miracle. Got her at 3 1/2 months and we were her 4th home already. Her name at time was Malachi. Later had her sexed...and since she was used to being called Mal....we went with Mel/Melanie. She was carrying a terminal disease and one year later was healed. Only 2nd grey in world to ditch this disease after carrying it. She has an unlimited vocabulary and can do exact voice imitations. She makes up conversations, doing 2 different voices and answering back and forth. She watches alot of educational tv. Intellect of 5 year old child. Also makes up muis and sings it. Can live 75 years. Just turned 7 this Tues.

Rousey Bourke Parakeet-femal-Cher'e Amore. Pink and white. A little beauty. Will be 7 in July. She is in luv with Kazoo. Kazoo hates both other birds. She could live about 15 years.

assuming they give you a real picture of themselves and are honest about themselves.. is it possible to love this person before you meet them?

Yes, it is possible. There are books on that now. Because there are no distractions and it is a direct feed to the brain, these relationships seem to grow feelings that are strangly deep. Noone yet knows how to really help for it....it is rather new and the attachment level is stunning.

It happened to me. With a ministerial servant. I am married. I love my husband. It still happened. I (literally) almost died from it...the stress...ended up with hives closing my throat and almost dying en route to hospital in ambulance. I almost lost my husband, obviously. This went on for seven months. He said he was divorced. No kids. Called me in hospital. Called me weekly. Knew my husband was thinking of giving up and leaving. After 7 months something he said on phone did not fit. Did more searching online....found out he is married and has 3 daughters.

I know this sounds dumb....I did not know you can be in luv with someone and still fall in luv with another. And ESPECIALLY did not think it could happen online. It took months of counseling, drugs, reading, love from my husband and friends and I still hurt. That is y I am here. It is a place I can vent my anger toward a JW and then move on. Or stay and help someone else, who knows.

By the way, I am far from ugly. I am older than alot of your...46....so not as beautiful as I was in my 20's. And he was far from ugly also. I used to think only ugly people found relationships online. That is so far from the truth. It surpirsed me.

THis guy totally mindfucked me. I was bored, he excited me, I wanted to try the online sex thing. He wanted me to fall in love. He talked to me about marraige. He totally raped me emotionally. WHat is interesting is we seemed to switch "roles" ...I wanted to do the sex....he wanted the romance.....how insecure he must be that he needs to make women fall in love with him.

I am so angry right now I can hardly see straight. I will try to not let my anger guide my comments.

You ask "What could be more important than saving souls?" Let me tell you, if you think for one minute that YOU or ANY PERSON (JW or NOT) is able to save souls I think perhaps you should study your Bible harder. God saves us thru HIS SON....YOU don't have a dam thing to do with it.

The Bible speaks about removing the plank out of your eye before speaking to others about the speck in theirs. Please consider that. It also speaks of letting me who is sinless cast the first stone. Please don't begin to tell me JW's are sinless.

The Bible also states that only through grace are we saved. Your little door to door thingies don't have a thing to do with grace.

JW's are very good at picking and choosing verses to support their hogwash. Well, I can through out plenty of scripture for you that shows you are WRONG...and guess what? Other translations of the Bible were done by people with a much better background in Greek, Hebrew and Aramiac than the goofballs who translated for New World Translation. Do some research!!! But, of course, you just take the Watchtower's word for it. Hmmm.....seems like a bunch of people a while back took someones word for salvation and participated in mass suicide cuz that someone said a spaceship was coming..>USE YOUR HEAD!!!

READ THE BIBLE......NOT YOUR NEW WORLD TRANSLATION> THINK ABOUT FREE WILL AND WHAT A SHAM JW IS IF FREE WILL REALLY EXISTS.

And please don't tell me about your loving concern. Would you like to know what a ministerial servent did with me???? How he shamed me, my husband, his wife, his daughters and his religion???? Your religion is full of people just like him....dying to lead a normal life so eventually they sneak around using a "wordly" (we are just garbage after all) to get their rocks off or have some dream of a normal life with no thought to what it will do the other person or either family when it is over. OH, he goes door to door. Does his 5 meetings a week. Is a ministerial servant. I wonder how his "sisters" would like to know the thoughts he has about anal and oral sex, about women, about dominance and submission. Yeah, just the guy we all need going door to door in loving concern of our salvation.

Read some of the other things that have happened with witnesses who have to sample what is outside their kingdom hall. You people are so repressed you don't care WHO you hurt. And you think you can EARN forgiveness by pounding on doors and running to meetings.

Get a real life. Learn what the Bible really says. Learn to really live and love and please, oh please, start having good sex with your partner so that you all can leave the REST of us alone!!!!

Giving thanks in restaurants!

when i was in dub-dom....i used to hate eating out....my ex always made us bow our heads and close our eyes tight shut while he gave thanks out loud.

did you do that in public??

or did you do it discreetly with your head bowed but eyes not shut....or.....head in hand...hoping people would think u were in deep thought?

This is a timely subject for me. I was just talking to a friend about this. I am not a JW nor have I ever been, but I do believe in God and that Jesus Christ is His Son and Savior. We always pray at home before meals. It may only be a sentence....maybe times it is NOT about the food...which I find silly...blessing food. That used to be done back when food alot of times was tainted.

So, anyway, I digress. I said to my friend that although we always pray at home, I never even THINK to pray in a restaurant. And I wonder why. I don't think it is necessary, nor do I think it is pompous...unless you pray loud and try to show how "holy" you are. What bugs me is that I don't have a problem with others doing it, nor do I have a problem with ordering a cocktail or reading a very sexual book in public....but for some reason I don't pray. lol. And I would feel uncomfortable reading my Bible in a restaurant, even though I don't feel uncomforable reading a "trashy" novel. I guess I don't want people to think I am trying to act self-righteous. At least, I tell myself that. I hope I am not ashamed to read the Bible....but, you know, I am afraid people will think I am goofy on it or trying to show how spiritual I am.

I do think alot about what was mentioned above....about praying in private instead of on the public corners. I guess maybe that it why I don't pray in restaurants. I am not a "normal" Christian, though, I guess...because I find alot about organized religions of all types to go against what I think Christ wanted us to learn.

Don't you HATE when people use their religion as a show for other people?

anyway, a fellow member of this board ..who shall remain nameless signed in on im and my daughter told them i was napping, this then made me a prime target for a prank..

A few years ago a guy I do business with and consider a friend attended at Motivational Seminar with me. There were about 12 national speakers. Well, the thing sucked. Big time. The same ol same ol...and we walked out mad that we had wasted a day there when we could have worked and made some money instead of spending it.

So, later the next day I had my husband call this guy at work and use a S L O W southern voice, and stutter. He pretended he was calling him to sell him tapes and workbooks cuz he had attented the Seminar...and my husband kept telling him "Your competition has purchased these and will sell circles around you". He bit, hook...line...and sinker....and was getting so irritated. LOL When he found out it was us the stage was set for years of paybacks.

Just this weekend we were out of town with some good friends for the weekend. Husband and I were in the vending room getting some popcorn at 2am and came very, very close to going to front desk and saying we were the couple in room 117 (our friends room) and that we wanted a 5am wakeup call. We decided against it though. :)

was reading zenpunk's thread about how it seems ex jw's go over the deep end and i tend to agree.

i think that is normal after being repressed for so long.. however, it would sure be nice if we had more than one chat room here.

i have visited the chat several times and it seems that usually (not always) it is about who was the drunkest, who had sex with someone, who is a lesbian, etc etc etc.

Imbue: Oh, trust me, I have bad my share of IM conversations. lol In fact, I am probably an expert at sex talk and flirting that way. It is what got me in trouble with a JW man online. So, please don't think I am offended. I am just looking for other things to discuss, and perhaps, some answers as to how to move on from my mistakes and why they happened.

Robyn: Yes, thanks....I understand that. I just feel that if the majority of people are enjoying the conversation I should not try to change it, would just like another room.

Valis: Please don't read things into my statements that are not there. I did NOT say I was offended. I have simply stated that I would like a room to talk about other things without trying to take away others conversations on sex and parties. If I want to talk about other things does that mean sex and parties offend me? Give me a break!

Another chatter and I WERE trying to discuss something this weekend and got all kinds of comments on that it was boring, etc. This is why I would like another room. That way when someone (maybe even me, gasp! lol) wants to talk about sex and parties we can be in that one and when we want to talk about other things in life we go to the other and don't bore those who want to only talk about that.

Don't be so sensitive! It is interesting to me that some (now PLEASE don't read it as ALL) of you left a religion that is very intolorent, but if someone on here is interested in discussing something different you are just as intolorent of that person. I am NOT offended, NOT judging....please give me the same leniency.
