this is 2012 and i am a younger 'baby boomer' born 1957 so i am 55 years old.... in another 20 or 30 years tops i have this destiny along with every human being including millions of devout jehovah's witnesses.. there is no watchtower 'new system paradise' you will grow old and die.if there really is an apocalyptic event of armageddon jesus christ advent,it only means that the watchtower organization will be swept away along with all other false religion..

"I respect a person's beliefs"
by Phizzy ini often hear this phrase "i respect a person's beliefs" on here and elsewhere, but i feel strongly that you should not.. i know that sometimes people mean by that phrase that they respect the right of a person to hold silly beliefs if they want to, but if that is so, say so.. if a person's beliefs are unsupportable, perhaps looney, perhaps downright dangerous,murderous, like the jw blood doctrine, such beliefs deserve no respect at all.. the person holding them we can show respect to by telling them in a gentle, and polite way that their beliefs are a pile of steaming poo, but we should not show respect for the beliefs, even by the simple act of remaining silent.. "to tell the truth as you see it is a wonderful thing" john lydon ("johnny rotten" late of the sex pistols, and now p. i. ltd).

Absolutely agree. You have the right to believe whatever you want, you do not have the right to not be laughed at.
But politeness is important. If you purposefully offend someone there had better be a good reason.
However, if someone says 'I believe 'x', and someone else responds 'I do not for reasons a,b &c', that is not grounds to take offence.
The professionally offended who use hurt feelings to stiffle debate are contemptible.

Good news, finally regarding my ex-elder-pedophile-father-in-law...
by misguided inabout two weeks ago he was arested in bc, about 35 years too late thanks to wts cover-up.. he had a baby with my ex-husband's sister - my kids have a cousin who is also their aunt.
this was all covered up by moving from ontario to bc back in the early 1980s, and it all being hidden by the wts; even allowing this guy to serve as an elder after the fact...when i got married to my ex, his father was an elder, and the baby of the incest was 15. .
today and from now on, hopefully things will unravell for the wts in canada, as he sits in jail in ontario (where the crimes were committed)charged on 24 counts of sexual abuse.. i hope there is a lot of embarrassment going on in that congregation in ladner, bc when all this originally came to light about 28 years ago, the congregation that let this man become an elder...because, my own parents seem to be in "cover-my-ass" mode when it comes to talking about this matter with me..

Then one day I heard of a couple elders counselling (threatening) a women not to go to her own daughter's wedding on pain of losing her regular pioneer status, because she was marrying a worldly man.
Then the thought came to mind. "Oh sxxx. I'm in a fxxxxxx cult"

Known Pedophile takes young boy to bathroom at circuit assembly....WTF?
by QuestioningEverything inmy mil's circuit assembly was this past weekend.
she came over for dinner to our home after the assembly.
in conversation, it came up that a known pedophile was seen walking to the bathroom holding a young boy's hand-no relation to the boy at all, although that wouldn't make a difference!

He could be grooming that young boy already. I couldnt rest if I had the power to stop something like that.
