I have lived in Australia for around 19 years and have only ever seen a koala in the wild once. They arent very common and as for having them as pets - its totally illegal. The laws on keeping wildlife are very strict, I once had a magpie as a pet and got busted. I was lucky to not receive a fine.

by Eyebrow2 in.
my son is fascinated by koalas....and we had a discussion about how he would love to have one as a pet.. i told him i didn't think that koalas would be something you would be allowed to have as a pet in the us...but it got us wondering, is it legal in australia?.
could any of you kind aussies let me know if you have ever known anyone to have one as a pet?.

All of us need to go to the Kingdom Hall!!
by dustyb inmaverick brought out a good point a few days ago, and i quote.
"you know what dustyb, we should all go back!
can you imagine what would happen if all "apostates" everywhere went to the k-hall next sunday?

I think that the dubs would be over the moon to see that happen. Of course everyone would be shunned, but they would see it as all the "postates" returning to the fold, coz they finally realize that they have all made a huge terrible mistake. They would probably see it as fulfilling some kind of obscure prophesy and would start rubbing their hands together and look to the sky for armageddon to start. Really, its like saying how do you think we would all feel if every single dub suddenly stopped attending meetings or going witnessing. I dont think that anything would make them happier.

Hidden Images in the JW Publications
by Hunyadi ini am a disfellowshipped brother and have never had a problem with the organization's doctrines.
i am, however, deeply disturbed at the undeniable use of hidden or subliminal images in the illustrations of the wt publications.
there are so many that it cannot be interpreted as anything other than a deliberate pattern.

I think the whole notion is hilarious. When I first saw the site that showed all the subliminal images, I thought it was a joke. I couldnt believe that some people actually take it seriously. Witnesses must laugh their asses off when they read threads like this. Who actually went through each publication and pointed out the pictures, and what would inspire someone to do this? The pentagon chair was the funniest, for sure. The watchtower doesnt have to put subliminal images in its pictures. The pictures themselves are grotesque enough.

Demonized objects
by Patrick inok, if you have belief in the teachings of demonized objects than my photo attachments should confirm your beliefs.
if you do not believe than please explain my photos as so many sciences have tried and failed.
this is not a trick and the transformations are real and this carved rock is of unknown form, very high density, harder than jadeite and has been dated to pre 17th century or older.

Patrick have you considered that this may be a "Pet Rock" we have pet rocks in Australia. They are rocks with bobble eyes stuck on them. Some even have hair and and smilie faces. You can get them at $2.00 stores or bargain basements. Maybe thats just what this animated rock is, perhaps it is just a more "Hardcore" pet rock.

What's happened to the preaching work?
by Dark Knight insomething happened the other night that got me thinking.
i met a christian in one of the local malls and he did the usual preaching about jesus routine, trying to convince me that i am a sinner and how i need jesus and all that jazz.
he wasn't a jw, but rather he was from one of the local revivalist churches.. now what i'm thinking is that i've been out of the org for almost three years now.

I can honestly say, I have lived in my city for almost 3 years and I have NOT ONCE even SEEN JW['s witnessing, never mind them come to my door. I was beginning to think that they just dont bother anymore, until yesterday I was on the phone to a customer, and there was a doorbell in the background. She said"Hang on a minute" and got the door. I heard a very "Oh hello dear I see your on the phone, sorry to disturb you, we are just working around your neighbourhood and showing people..." This is where my customer butted in "No thank you im not interested" to which the dub lady replied "Ok... bye!!" My customer then returned to the phone and said: "Sorry about that, bloody Jehovahs Witnesses" to which I replied "Oh come on... give them a chance!" we both laughed. I felt great at that moment. I guess they are still out there, though there presentations sure need some work!!

Embarassing moments you witnessed?
by starfish422 in.
not yours; but those of others you had the good fortune to watch happen.
my favourite is the time we had the co and his wife for lunch after field service, and my mum swore in front of them.

When I was about 16, I walked down the Kingdom Hall to my seat down the front after coming out of the toilet. My skirt was bunched up inside my knickers. uurghh... I squirm even now thinking about it. Jw freinds still give me a hard time about it.
