A friend told me recently that he isn't having much if anything ever to do again with his siblings, his spouse passed away, and yet none of his brothers and sisters have donated a dime to help with the funeral costs or anything else, the siblings didn't even send flowers to the funeral. he is saing that's it, they have been written off of his list to ever help if and when they have this problem. The siblings aren't even jdubs. So he is really pissed at them.

by smiddy indid you just take that scripture at face value ?
beleiving it to be so ?.

Since early Christians used the Septuagint that is the only thing that 2 Tim. 3:16 could refer to as possibly "inspired." hope that answers your thoughts on the subject.

Father in law phoned over the riots in the UK.......
by watersprout inso i was sitting down enjoying my evening and the phone rings... i picked it up and heard my fil on the other end... i said ''hello'' and this was the reply ''oh hello err err err um sprout''... ten years of marriage to his son and he still can't remember my name... .
oh well, what can you do!!.

by skeeter1 init's like, how many people does it take to screw in a lightbulb...... so, i dropped by someone's house last weekend this person was raised in the watchtower cult, and has been around it for several decades.
nice person, but not active in the meetings, never in service, and never baptised, etc.
rarely goes to the meetings - perhaps once every 2 months.

I'mjust waiting to see when or if I get a visit told several of them 2 MS for sure that i wont be going back to their hall for a variety of reasons one being the total lack of support we have gotten. No visits no calls nada, zip zero zilch. Told them we wont go to their hall anymore and wont visit another one for some time.

by AZheat ini am sitting here writing this posting as a way of venting for all the frustration that i have been building up over the years of slavery to this beast called the wbts... i was a born in, and was denied all the normal things in life, i always felt left out as a kid, and even as a young adult.
i was the only jw for most if not all of my school years, i was harrased, mocked, teased, and even pushed around, because i was taught to stand up for what i beleive in.
th problem was, i didnt beleive it, i always felt there was something not right about the org.

Those in the org are very conditinal friends, no dtd no friends, no kotowing to the mindless babble from brooklyn no friends, lose a spouse in death and to them you are as dead too. The idea of true love just doesn't exist in their cultic universe.

by Coffee House Girl inwell since there is no "betting" (as it reeks of gambling) in jdub land, lets place a friendly wager on what will happen to me when i go to my father's "memorial" service at the kingdome hall this saturday..... to give you newbies background info: i am neither df'd or da'd- i left 2 years ago with no explanation.
i have been hounded by elders in my cong because they have suspicions that i am living with a man, but they have no proof (well, no proof in jdub land- you know...two witness rule).
after many attempts to get me to meet with them- i finally sent the elders a "cease & desist" letter after one of them spied in my miniblinds to see me eating breakfast with someone (they couldn't identify who).

What DO I think about Glenn Beck?
by AK - Jeff ini think of myself as 'moderate libertarian' if i must attach a lapel card.
and i'm not sure that is entirely the correct one.. i endorse fiscal conservative thinking, believe in limited government, and a strong domestic defense policy.
in these areas, i could find myself in agreement with the talk show host.
