God, Love, and Marriage vs. WTBTS dogma - when this one scripture is so plain....!
by Muddy Waters ingot to thinking about this the other day.... you know how the wts uses a scripture from ecclesiastes (ecc.4:12) to say how important it is to have jehovah in your marriage -- that a two-fold cord is easily broken or pulled apart, but a "three-fold cord is not easily broken".
they then go on to define exactly who and what jehovah is and what exactly this love & marital arrangement means and how you properly show and demonstrate it, and blah blah blah and all the things jehovah (through his organization) says are so necessary and important for a happy marriage (from their special bias and agenda, the preaching work!
- and meeting attendance & preparation, and studying the bible together and the husband taking the lead, and all that jw filler which they define and obligate for others to do -- they define every term and behavior and expectation to the nth degree.. then it occurred to me, that there's that scripture which says: "god is love.".

merk ch 16 says all believers of jesus will perform miracles....
by sowhatnow in15 he said to them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
16 whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17 and these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.. 19 after the lord jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of god.

Wouldn't have loaned her any money for the society, going to meetings and certainly for the district grand boasting baloney. No no money for any of that. -

Tax-exempt Status of Churches and the Gay Marriage Decision
by lambsbottom init will be interesting to see what will happen with the "beloved" 501c3 tax exempt status which the churches hold so dearly onto.
the first-century christians met in homes.
they did not have exemption from taxes to the governments.

Tax exempt laws will have to change. For churches to lose tax exempt status. When that happens and monies spent on hospitals food banks etc. may disappear unless it falls under tax exemption. A can of worms has been opened. -

I have always thought that churches should have been paying property taxes like other property owners. I however don't believe churches should be forced or compelled to marry the LGBT crowd. If that is to be so 1st and foremost it should begin at the local mosques. If you think about it having to do things against your principled belief is just a form of tyranny. -

How are the JW's reacting to the new USA gay marriage laws?
by purrpurr inpersonally i think this is wonderful.
i have nothing against gay people and wish them only the best.. but of course i'm in a minority of one, the jw's around me are posting away on fb the most homophobic vitriol imaginable.
a lot of them are even saying that it's the start to armageddon!!.

I have 4 gay people in family and am surprised they one an all think marriage, gay marriage is sick, makes me wonder if that is because they don't want to be stuck with their current significant other. Oh well someone mentioned people posting horrible things in social networks could get in trouble. That is nonsense IMO. -

Despite there being at least three references to BDs in the supposed word of hog...err God. They want to keep their thumbs on your life. No enjoyment until morale improves. -

Bethel Meeting at Regional Convention
by MrTheocratic ini decided to go to the bethel recruiting meeting yesterday to test out my theory that the organization is in decline.
i assumed that if there is a general feeling of apathy by many in the org, then certainly it would be shown up by the lack of enthusiasm or zeal by many to sign up for bethel service.
well let me say that based on what i observed, this organization is not going anywhere.

The last time I actually attended a DC, they were several older teens from our congregation that went to the want to go to bethel meeting. A couple of weeks later some were at our house hacking with my teen aged daughters, so I asked them as a group why they attended, they could speak quickly enough over each other their parents made them. Several actually went to bethel later on and none of them completed even one year there and all three left dub land guess they had their eyes opened for sure.
