Another thought is that all the Bible should have been retitled as something on the lime of Aseops Tales (spelling?)

Terry agree totally with your analysis, but just wondered which of the myth written manuscripts they used. I think that the tales were something like barracks no BS stories that got verbally adjusted to fit particular situations. The only thing missing in the texts is the start of this "Now this is no BS," that is what strikes me about the Bible after reading many books about the supposed origins of the bible. Bart Ehrman's books have definitely been educational and enlightening and a confirmation. Tks so much for you input.

Do you still believe in the doctrines of the Watchtower
by SAHARA inman, i did it again in messing up my post.
anyway, after reading many exjw responses to questions from posters, i see there is a wide variety of opinions on faith and religion in general such as still believing that there is a god to no belief in god at all.
for those of you who still believe that there is a god, i'd like to know whether or not you still believe in the doctrines of the watchtower, but you just don't believe that it is gods "only true religion"?.

THINGS I did....I wasn't supposed to do....as an active JW
by Terry inon freeminds.org, randy w wrote this about himself:.
even as a strict jehovahs witness for eight years, i never once shunned or failed to speak to a disfellowshipped person.
it is simply cruel.

The thing I finally did as all of you too, was actually start to think for myself. by doing so the blinders fell off and the mind opened up and there was the stark realization that they weren't the only ones who were right about things. In fact they were no very often totally right and a lot of other times they were totally wrong.

Cousin Lenny and a pinch of Neanderthal DNA
by designs inresearchers at princeton have found evidence of neanderthal genes in humans where they were once thought not to have bred.. its all a little different than what we were taught in science class or a bible study.
any thoughts on the origins of us.. .
.

I had always thought that neanderthals existed, one has only to look at the Gooberning Bodice to see that, and the evidence of less than menial intelligence is rampant, I mean after all it takes a vote of 2/3rds to agree with God's holy spirt. They can't even all agree on just what holy s**t is really saying.

For Perry: the most distant known object in the Universe.
by BurnTheShips inhttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4274187/.
this object is 13 billion light-years away.. light travels 300,000 kilometers per second.. it took 13 billion years for us to receive the light that was recorded as the image in the article:.
buy a cheap telescope at a department store, and you can see the andromeda galaxy easily.

It is my firm (heh heh) belief that the most distant known object in the universe is the lack of common sense in use at the Kingdumb hall.
Sorry couldn't resist. the insistence on stupidly given answers at the WT non study, or tne non book study and any meeting requiring response from the zombies is irritating at the least and incredibly mind numbing.

Samuel 17: 58 Whose son are you boy?
by ssn587 insome bible scholars consider 1 samuel 17:12-31 and 17:5518:5 to be later additions because these verses are not found in certain copies of the greek septuagint.,.
the wtbts claims that these do appear in other authoritative copies, so what is the story and background on these scriptures, saul, doesn't know him, then saul knows him, then again saul doesn't know him.. .
