I agree with finallyawake churches should pay taxes, nothing in the constitution about them having a special classification and free from all responsibility of paying taxes, they should also be paying taxes on all monies invested etc. I for one am tired of their free ride. The WTBTS is nothing more than a business hidden by a cloak of religisosity and they prey on people and familes. They have absolutely no programs to help the poor, sick, and needy although they do have an agenda to protect peds and not the victims.

Latest Study Article: Was Jephthah surprised at his daughter coming out?
by garbonzo inparagraph 15: "he vowed that if god gave ammon into jephthah's hand, the first one to come out of the door when he returned home would be jehovah's.
as jephthah returned home from subduing ammon, his daughter came running to meet him.

it was to be a burnt sacrifice not duty at a temple somewhere else. a burnt sacrifice. the WTBTS always tries to change it to something else. probablyto try and get young ones to donate their lives working at the publishing company.

Theo Min School and Public Speaker Training Outdated...
by Confucious ini used to think that the theocratic ministry school was extremely valuable.. and i think it does have it's value.. but i think public speaking has changed so dramatically the last few years.. last time i went to the kh... the public speakers were speaking at a very "low" level.. i think part of the thing the current crop of religious speakers (like joel osteen, etc... they are so dynamic.. and even speakers like tony robbins.... i think the style of speaking for witness speakers has become old school.. granted - yes... they have an audience that is "obligated" to listen to them.
but they have not evolved at all as public speakers - and probably is getting worse.. most public speakers aren't glued to an outline.... just a thought.... .

Maybe if they had telepromters they would be classified as good speakers too. I learned absolutely nothing by being in the school and dropped out after awhile. I got tired of hearing really lousy talks and then the student being told they did a good job (say wha???). In smaller congs. you see the same people over and over again, some of them never seem to learn anything, and the others are just as bored with the talks as we are/were listening to them.

Some apostates are sociopaths
by myusername inthat is a controversial title to this post.
i think most apostates are kind-hearted people who want to warn others about this organization and help others get out of it.
however, some jws are sociopaths.

Do you want/expect your kids to take care of you when you're old?
by GoingGoingGone ini had a conversation with my daughter tonight that got me pretty upset, and i'm wondering if i'm expecting too much from my kids.. both my kids went to outstanding colleges, have landed very well-paying jobs, and have very bright financial futures ahead of them.
this makes me especially happy because my husband and i have always had to struggle financially (we both grew up jws and never got to go to college.
) it was a sacrifice for us to send them to college, but i would do it all again in a heartbeat.

For myself, I have no intention of living with my children, I fully intend to take care of myself. I am moving to a foreign country, where my money will ensure that if needed i will have daily nursing care if it ever comes to that. Hopefully I have the genes of my father and his mom and grandmother. Father lived to 98, his mom to 102, his grandmother to 106. He died in an accident, vehicle, and not from old age problems. He was in fact still working on his farm/ranch so good for him. don't know what gm, or ggm died from but if my father is an example they lived a very frality free life as both were still living on their own when they passed.
I have no wish to burden my children, (really can't put up with noise from younger ones) or myself with having to live with someone, although at times I have teased them about this. they seem more than willing to be able to and wanting to take care of me if it ever gets to that point. but as I will be living in a foreign land they won't have too.

Do You Ever Feel Invisible?

We may seek invisibi
Ity when inactive and not wanting the drones to bother us. I found that my daughter and I became invisible when my wife died. Now do to there actions I am free of them and. They are dead to me and my daughter. The love supposedly in the cong is a myth at best just likew the myth of a GB, they all can just kiss my ass.

Introductions
by Gorbatchov inwhen i read today the introductions of new jwd members, i got the feeling that worldwide many of the members of the congregations have their doubts and are fading away from the watchtower community.
personaly it makes sense for me.
1) to see i'm not allone 2) to see that there is realy something going on!

it has always amazed me how they think they are loving caring people unless something happens in the family and then you see them for what they really are.
