  The Final Nail in the Coffin of your JW Career

  i know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.

  but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.

  it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!

  this is a responce to john does "what is it with women" post.

  i'd like to point out that men do even more irrating and inexplicable things than women.... 1) not wanting to ask for directions.

  2) getting a kick out of seeing people blown up in movies.

  I think with me its because I dated younger men, so to go from a man 25 years older than the last one Id feel like Id been jipped! - I dont know about the money thing- i think being with a man for his money is tantamount to being a whore. Im single and Id love a nice affluent bloke, but thats chance, because Id have to love them first. dont rule out older than me, but Im pretty kiddish myself, and I dont want to be with someone all stuck in their ways. I know thats not everyone though!

  Are Witnesses really this stupid that they need to be told this?

  they have to put the same signs up in surgeries and public places, because witnesses or no - some people are thick and they dont wash their hands and they dont cover their faces when they cough or they go to meetings ill because they are super spiritual and then spread infection to the young or weak or infirm.

  Demonic Possesion of Inaminate Objects

  I know its a powerful belief. all I know I have never had demonic encounters but when I was a JW, I did have a fear, like most. - when we were young and married, we studied with this italian guy who always said hed seen jesus in his bedroom and ghosts. - well one day he gave us a coffee table. - I was only 20 at the time, I remember one night having a nightmare, - you know the kind where you get that horrible malevolent feeling? - evil. - well I woke up terrified, there was a shadowy ghost on my stairs in the dream, and it was so vivid, - because of my witness beliefs at the time, I knew the ghost in my dream was a demon, evil and malevolent. - well for weeks, I wouldnt be in the house on my own, my dream had affected me that much. incidentally I got rid of the table, but only because it was glass and it showed fingermarks and it had a horrid silver tubular base - but the day I got rid of it, I was ok in the house on my own. - for years after It occured to me in hindsight that the table had a thing about it.. - but that was only after the whole event. not during or before. - now lol I dont know what it was all about..

  I never had much patience for all the people who said demons sat on them in the night - I always assumed they had mental health problems or sleep terrors. - I honestly never took them that seriously as a lot of witnesses see demons everywhere, and almost seem proud, as if its a measure of their spirituality.

  once I gave a matress to a friend and she later burned it saying it was possessed because her daughter just wouldnt lift her head off the pillow. the suggestion I added that maybe puberty or general bone idleness had something to do with it was of course laughed off, and the matress destroyed. -

  which leads me to the idea that a lot of witnesses seek objects to blame their trouble on rather than dealing with it. - our child was caught stealing... muct have been that book they brought home from the library. burn it and make them explain to school..

  Those who can't be resurrected...

  hey folks a little help.

  i seem to remember when i was younger reading an article talking about people who probably wouldn't be resurrected, those who turned their back on jehovah being the primary example.

  i can't find the article to cite though, does anyone here know which article mentioned this?.

  there is much debate on the horus resurrected topic. - surely if horus was the same of jesus, christians would have noticed, but its a big part of the zeitgeist theories, but apparently this theory originated with Gerald Massey, an English poet, born 1828, died 1927. .. just food for thought.

  i think i did and that was one of the things that eventually made me leave the org.

  i just couldn't take living with a bad conscience constantly.

  when i left this was one of the things that disappeard first and it was as tons were lifted from my shoulders.

  thats horrible. they really had you. then you have shown extraordinary strength of character in standing up for it. how dare someone beat you and dare to advocate the true religion! - but thats a story of many women in bad relationships. - i read a really good book on that topic.. women who love too much by Robin Norwood.

  ah well there are always those that think they are encouraging you by smiling sweetly and twisting the knife. - I remeber one assembly this couple came up to us and said ohh its soooo great to see you.. and we were thinking why? and then it turned out they thought we had stopped attending, when we had simply moved elsewhere. how condescending.

  i think its the guilt they make you feel though so that everyone who says they miss you you think they have a hidden agenda, and Im sure they all dont. mind you the ones that dont usually dont make comments to you, its the over righteous ones that do.

  i remember being late and having comments saying it was pointless you had even turned up. its all fake euphoric bullshit.

  On the personal side (question for women)

  ok, here is one on the personal side of my everyday life.. i heard through another person that this female i know said i slept with her when i didn't.

  why would a female say something like this if not true?

  is their any logic to it?.

  i went to college with a guy who told everyone he had sex with me. - he told me that by the end of the course he would get me in bed. I said never. and so he cheated and said he had anyway. how bad was that?

  Did You Personally Know Any JWs That Were Sexually Molested By Other JWs?

  i knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.

  it was not typical in my experience.

  I knew two girls when I was young. their dad was fiddling with them. - there is one locally and everyone feels bad because he has cancer. pedos can rot in hell for all I care.
