I once went to visit an old friend who hadnt been to the meeting in around ten years - I hadnt been in around 2.
the next day my ex husband knocked on my door warning me to be careful as rumours were circulating that I was looking to 'form an apostate group'
- I dont even think we touched on religion, but while i was there an old flame called on her - she hadnt seen him for years
his mum was back in the truth after making some money running a brothel
after closing the kinky flat down she rented it to my ex..
six degrees of separation lol...
and they were worried I might be a bad influence hahah

my own circular logic with which i would argue in here with any JW apologist - you shouldnt be talking to me - therefore you are going against the WT therefore why are you trying to stick up for it.

Thinking of how they justify the obvious mental trauma and sadness they cause people..
and also how a witness will deny the practice of shunning to a newly interested one, this one made me really angry..
17 Consider just one example of the good that can come when a family loyally upholds Jehovah’s decree not to associate with disfellowshipped relatives. A young man had been disfellowshipped for over ten years, during which time his father, mother, and four brothers “quit mixing in company” with him. At times, he tried to involve himself in their activities, but to their credit, each member of the family was steadfast in not having any contact with him. After he was reinstated, he said that he always missed the association with his family, especially at night when he was alone. But, he admitted, had the family associated with him even a little, that small dose would have satisfied him. However, because he did not receive even the slightest communication from any of his family, the burning desire to be with them became one motivating factor in his restoring his relationship with Jehovah. Think of that if you are ever tempted to violate God’s command not to associate with your disfellowshipped relatives.

makes me wonder did this poor man ever really care about 'his relationship with jehovah'? or did he just miss his family? this paragraph has CULT written all over it.

thats why pedophiles do their deeds without an extra witness, obvioulsy. I know if discovered my child had ever been molested i wouldnt need someone extra to be party to it to go to the police, just in case it wasnt very 'loving'

Im with PP -
i've decided to take the time to fully flesh out who i am and what my needs are as a person outside of a relationship.
made a huge difference being on my own for a while. when i did meet my husband, i knew who i was on my own and that I did not need to be in a relationship - yes i knew it would have great advantages for me, and I am not a person who wanted to be alone, but at least I knew I could do it - I feel when I met my husband this made me more of an equal partner and not the needy lonely one!
