A Loving father.
by creativhoney inone parallel i always remember is that jehovah god is likened to a loving father.
i have often wondered what kind of loving parent would go out indefinitely, not say where they were and leave their kids a vague and cryptic note of what to do while they were gone?
i have wondered what kind of parent would make it hard for their kids to figure out exactly what was expected of them, or watch them fail miserably from a distance.

Im assuming any parent like this would lose their kids until they sorted their heads out.
anyone else ever wondered this? :)

Christ Alone vs IsaacAustin (blood)
by isaacaustin inthe wt arbitrarily imposes a ban of 'whole blood' on its members, resulting in heartache, difficulty/delay in receiving medical care, and in many cases death.
rather than focus on the relatively new allowance of blood fractions and the utter flaws in that logic to wt policy, we will focus on blood transfusions involving 'whole blood'.. christ alone, the restrictions on blood found in the ot, or hebrew scriptures if you will, were dietary restrictions on the eating of animal blood, and nothing more.
the mosaic law forbade the eating of animal blood, as it was to be poured out on the ground.

the bible states that blood is life
it also states that there is no greater gift I can give than lay down my life for my brother.
does this mean I should give blood?

Where does all the JW money go?
by LouBelle ini want to know.. does every kingdom hall, bethel and assembly hall belong to the watchtower, bible & tract society?.
each of those kingdom halls, bethels etc are built with the money obtained by that country's contributions.
if a loan is needed the bothers of that specific congregation pay off the loan.. the society has then an extremely huge amount of property worth billions of $$$$ who has control of all those funds?

The GB live a worry free, debt free, bill free lifestyle.
at least they have never had a penny from me! my ex hub was too poor from putting the kingdom first (well after football) to put any money in the boxes! i certainly wasnt taking it away from my kids.

The most logical thing I've heard from an elder
by biometrics inhe said: "<biometrics>, if you can't see 1914, and don't beleive the gb is god's only channel, there's not much point in discussing this any further"..

faith is such a clever notion. it makes up for all the holes in religion.

all we get is 'worldwide work' and yet each assembly and meeting pays for itself. - yes apparently they build the KHs from their own contributions and the sign them straight over to the WBTS! dont ask me where it goes...

Venting some rage and pain.
by jemba inmy father the coboe and much loved member of the cult has ignored me and my children 17yrs and 8yrs old for much of my life and all of my kids lives.
i hate that religion for taking my father away and i hate him for being sucked in and putting all his love, time and kindness into the org and the stupid dubs and leaving himself too tired and uninterested in us.
my kids dont have grandparents, my mum is ok, she rings me once a month but kinda ignores my kids, just gives em $50 each a yr as a substitute for love and attention.. .

hello - Im slightly confused by your post. - are you DFd or not? one part i see you say you arent then further down it seems like you are.
- even so - Im sorry and no one should have to experience this.. and why do your children get shunned? - even when my mum didn't mix with me, she still saw my kids (16 and 14) since I met my 'worldly' husband she has had a normal relationship with me despite me being DFd and says that nothing would stop her being part of the lives of any of her grandchildren. Im fortunate my mum has a mind of her own despite some of the cult mentality that is hard wired into her brain.
a wise friend once told me when i said i couldnt accept it 'you dont have to accept it, but you do have to learn to deal with it' - best advice i had been given - he was saying yes shunning is wrong and as such unacceptable, however you have to find a way to get on with your daily life without letting it ruin it.
i saw this in the 'world' too - just generall people who have rubbish parents - my best friends dad has never been there for her - religion wasnt even a cover. he had a wife and other kids and she was the throwback mistake. - now in her 40s she doesnt even view him as a dad. she expects nothing and that way she cant be disappointed.
i think sometimes they use the truth as an excuse - you have no way of knowing if he might just be a lazy and irresponsible parent anyway hiding behind religion as a cover.. .
- dont fall into sadness, live your life, expect little and you wont be disappointed. - i grew up with no grandparents, your kids will be fine - they are losing out on a wonderful gift and you have that gift every day. - most of all be thankful that uyour children arent forced into that unhappy way of life. xxx

Scriptural Attendance
by NeverKnew ini'm watching a jw who is running himself into the ground.. before his last meeting, he sounded really agitated about his life's schedule.
all i could think of was how the wts was in his way.
2 service meetings a week (one where a presentation of some sort may have to be given).
