my daughter who is 19 is pre-engaged to a wonderful 20 year old guy who treats her like a princess.

he lives with us to both help me with the rent and for them to save some money for their future.

No need to ruin her plans to show off her home town and get to know the family.

as a nurse, i can tell you that their lives wont go well.

usually abused females end up neurotics and suffer from personality disorders, and more often than not, anorexic.

I thank you so much for your experience and love you bring to this forum.

I'm in a major struggle with taking that step to just give in and allow someone to know my thoughts and feelings with what has happened in our lives. My husband has really been pushing me to seek counseling because he knows I'm not even near the wife and mother I use to be before my child was molested but for some reason fear of the unknown keeps me pretending things are okay for now, fooling everyone around me just enough to lay off the pressure.

I come here and seek out your posts because I know they will help me in my need, so please know, your efforts and insight are much appreciated even though many of us just read them and are helped without saying a word.

Wife love-bombed...HELP ME!

i thought the fade was speeding up and there was light on the horizon for me and my family.

then yesterday my wife gets love-bombed and is ready to go back to the dubs.

i'm angry, cynical, depressed, disillusioned, you name it.. i don't know what to do for her.

Don't get too stressed yet. The love bombing wears off after going to a few meeting and something or someone will piss her off again and she'll stop going again.

I know for us, we tried the fade but ended up just stop going completely about 8 months ago. We get the urge sometimes to go to a meeting after running into some of the nicer ones we miss. Then sure enough will run into someone who once again reminds us why we never want to set foot in the KH again. It's a tough situation to be in, I know:( It's gets pretty lonely when your starting all over.

I've had the same conversations with my mother through tears. I just try to tell her that I'm sorry she hurts because she feels that if the big "A" comes next week we will be destroyed, but I just don't feel that way anymore. I then tell her how much I love Jehovah and Jesus and how I know they see our hearts and I'm completely okay with that. It usually calms her down enough to say that it's true that Jehovah reads our hearts and she knows we have a good reason for not trusting the elders anymore. We too agreed not to talk about spiritual matters anymore because it just gets us both upset.

I hope all goes well with your family and please know that you are not alone in what you are going through.

did you feel guilty ,when ignoring disfellowshipped ones ?

i was having an affair with a pioneer at the time and a girl who was disfellowshipped was in the loo at the hall (she actually had not done aything scriptually wrong (but the elders thought she had ) i tried to smile at her as i felt i was not in a position to judge anyone as guilt was destroying me but she just looked down at the floor , 14 years later we are good friends and both "free".

when you were "in" and ignored disfellowshipped did you ever think "im not in a position to judge anyone " ?.

Never could do it Thankfully...

My sister shunned my mother after she was disfellowshipped and their relationship has never been the same. Even after my mom went back married an elder and has been a pioneer for years, she never got over her own daughter not talking to her.

My sister now can see that she shouldn't have allowed peer pressure to dictate her conscience and totally stands behind me in my inactivity. Time and experience totally changes a person.

i knew a girl who got married at 19 despite objections from the elders , they got disfellowshipped and reinstated after 18 months , he chose her clothes and would not allow her any money , he insisted on doing the food shopping with her , he hit her if tea was not on the table when he returned from work , he broke her nose once when she was holding her 2 year old child , when she approached the elders , onesaid to her "what are you complaining about ,he hasnt broke every bone in your body , there are sisters who put up with much worse !

if a jw man is not supposed to be violent why would they not give him a telling off ?.

My mom was abused horribly by my father. I don't remember any of my young childhood or any time growing up with my dad and I was 7 or 8 when they divorced. I heard there was some good times as well. kinda sad, I don't remember those but I'm glad I don't remember the bad times. My older siblings said I would just sleep through it. Funny, but to this day when I'm overwhelmed I get real sleepy and nod off at times.
