  Yesterday's WT

  the whole wt yesterday, which was supposed to be about love, actually centered on how we should react to 'persecutors'.

  it was horrible to hear the audience comments...calling 'worldly people' everything from 'they are unkind and mean' to them being 'hateful and unneighborly'.

  i sat there and thought about how this 'us vs. them' mentality is the very thing that is contributing to the divisive and separatist world we live in.

  Love what you said Walktall. In fact ALL wars, conflicts, disagreements, even small arguments are based on this divisive way of thinking. What you discribed doesn't sound any different than the extremist in other regions of the world! It's all got the same MO. Anything that divides is NOT from God/Source and it's is NOT what Jesus message was, quite the opposite. When are humans going to catch on to the fact that we are all connected. The sooner we grasp that, the sooner we will start to bring about true peace on earth. I'm sorry you had to sit through that superior, unloving, hypocritical wt! Great thread..................wf

  Isn't that funny about the Charlie Brown holiday specials! Me too, as a born in jw, when it came on every year we were actually aloud to watch it, probably because my mom had six little kids running around, only like three really good channels back then, and it was a cartoon that would shut us up for a while! I also remember Frosty the Snow Man every year. I looooooved that one! I still watch these when they come on.......wf

  i was going through some old photos today, i found one of myself when i was a devout jw.

  it was really shocking!

  i'm so thin, my cheeks are hollow, i'm as white as the wall behind me, i'm standing hunched over, and in my eyes you can see real misery.

  Magwitch that's funny!!

  I actually hated the way most of the sisters dressed. I mean why did people have to look like they were so frumpy and outdated and then go in field service!? Who's going to be attracted to that? So I actually dressed really well and modern. Short skirts with a tan always in the summer, then short skirts with stylish tights and boots in the winter. Clothes you'd see in the average office. I always felt it would help our 'message' if we looked better when we came to their door. I would actually wear some of that stuff again if I had anything to dress up for! Now it's jeans and mini skirts and always a tan!!......wf

  I love the Tao! I actually have read Wayne Dyer's Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life. He took a whole year off of his life, literally gave everything away he owned and lived the Tao for a year. He would read a verse, stew over it for four days, and then write his thoughts on it. It is a great book to have. I try to read a verse everyday. It's so much more meaningful and powerful and so full of awareness than the Daily Text ever was!..........wf

  warning signs!anyone could attack a group they disagree with by unfairly labeling it a destructive cult.

  how would you know whether it really were such a cult or not?

  isn't there an objective method to evaluate groups for cultic tendencies?

  It took me a long time to actually admit that the jw's were a 'cult'. This just confirmed it even more. Thanks for opening my eyes some more. I wish I could send this to every jw I know. There should be no way they could deny this. Where did you get this info btw?.......wf

  Totally Busted and Scared!!!!!!

  my husband and i have been fading/disappearing for a few months now.

  we haven't been to meetings in quite some time, but most of our family members live out of the area, so they don't know yet.

  so with the spirit of joy that comes from newly exiting a doomsday cult, we have been celebrating all the holidays as well as my 5 year old's birthday (she turned 5 on december 2).

  It sounds like it's just time. You said it best about "putting off the inevitable". It may feel scary and uneasy but it's probably time. You will get through this. If you want to lie and deny (because of circumstances maybe) then you are just going to have to live with this negative feeling for longer and you already know how hard that is to do and how it makes you feel. The sooner you can get this over with now that somethings come to light, the better. Hang in there and follow your intuition on this. You are so doing the right thing for your children and that's what matters. Life will get easier and better!........wf
