Are JW EX elders in need of our contempt or sympathy ?

point 1. not so long i would have strung them all up and hanged them.. point 2. these guys were the real succers, not only did they become jw,s, they embraced and adopted the cults teachings, and to some extent subjugated thier familys happiness, and thier own,to elevate themselves, and achieve status and recieve privellages, ie not have a f-----g life.

point 3 they had the onerus task of making sense, of the ever changing (truths) and having to teach that crap to the rest of us, and cope with the subsequent questionings that would invariably follow.. point 4.they had to take the lead in (sales) distributing literature.

point 5.they were the authoritarian face of the society, and a lot of people, (myself included ) thought they were jumped up janitors and window cleaners with a chip on thier shoulders.

Got "THE letter" ....how to proceed?

my husband and i faded/mysteriously disappeared from meetings over a year ago.

we've had a few visits from elders (where we said very little but thanked them for their time), the last one being when we had some nice jack o lanterns sitting on our porch.

on saturday, we got letters cordially inviting us to our beheading, i mean, our judicial committee meeting.

I fell & Guess What???

i moved on sat...fell & fractured my wrist..... it is in a caste,thank god it is the ,left one.... i am all settles in with the help of my daughter ,sonin law,grandkids.. i was at the hospital for hours....was able to talk to doc,nurse,why.

they must not shut the door on the jw's as they have been doing.. they were very interesting took my card to give the ones they have.

been listening to.....so i feel good came out of bad....

Dating after Divorcing a JW...

any experiences/advice on dating (moving on) after a separation or divorce from a jw?.

i know that when (not if) i leave the org, my wife will probably separate then divorce me (and we have 3 small children).

i only know of horror stories when it comes to that type of scenario.

From my experience, you are screwed on a number of levels.

Normal people will not be able to relate to your experience. I told the first woman that I entered a serious relationhip with after leaving the JW's, that it is almost as if I were raised Amish. She could not relate to the strange differences.

One was politics. She was appauled that I had viewpoints that were strong, and had never voted. She could not believe that JW's couldn't vote. There were others but that is the first to come to mind.

What Did You Not Do Because You Were A Jehovah's Witness That You Wanted To Do?

i didn't go to college and of course, "higher education" was never recommended.

still, i never felt terribly deprived because of not going further in my education.. yet, i did wish that i could've had "normal" aka "worldly friends".

i wish that as witnesses, we could've been better integrated with other people.

Become an architect. I blew it, my Dad (not a JW) would have put me through school. I, like a dumbass, listened to Brooklyn. I would have had it made . . . sigh! I was damned good.
