I honestly couldn't tell ya until it happend, though I can say that I'm not that interested in getting a nice experience out of it myself, I would more than likely just choose someone I already know as things stand right now, just because.

Well, to me it doesn't really matter so much whether it's crazy, it's just thoughts. After all, what's to say that your thoughts are crazy besides yet another thought? It's all of the same class of things. Things start getting interesting when we include more than just thoughts.
anyone who has read my history of posts knows that one of my struggles is trying to find and build self confidence.. what is it about being a jw that can tear down someone's self confidence?.

No, it is because belief is confused with confidence, a thought is confused with your self. The object of belief is really secondary.
i'm 45 years old going to college for a degree in marketing so i can find a decent job.

i'm only taking 2 classes at a time because of my nerves.. every day is a battle with my nerves.

Although we can define these words in different ways, I would point out that hope is dependent on a better future, faith does not. You can have faith in yourself right now. I would say for the purpose of what we're discussing a precise definition of faith is not necessary, just take the time to feel what that feels like.
I want to be clear that by faith in yourself I do not mean faith in your ability to --- fill in the blank, whatever that may be. It is even closer than that, it is not faith in an action or the result of some kind of action, it's more intimate - right there where you are. I am most certainly not talking about belief, thought is not involved here. It is a matter of knowing yourself, seeing what is here already, so it does not depend on hope for a better future. Call it a kind of strength if you want, but ultimately when you see it for what it is the idea of strength loses meaning, that's 'how strong' it is, because it is not affected by any of the changing circumstances. I'm sure this is rather ambiguous, but like I said I think the best thing is to feel into it. What you are dealing with is not reality, it is phenomena, and it is temporary. i know there are bad feelings running here but it has to stop now.this forum and all on it are hurt in some way.i come here for information and a smile when things get bad.if it was not for this place i would not know all the lies of the wt or what they are pulling next.i finally feel i am not alone in dealing with a loved one in this cult and emotionly i am getting stronger thanks to you all.everyone here is needed, you all provide information ,either emotionily or about the org.

my understanding is that this board can serve as a place to come so that jw's and ex-jw's can get together to discuss mostly, jw issues as well as matters such as our likes and dislikes of a non-religious nature.
since there are so many posters here, could you please express what you think this place is for?

i was having an in depth discussion on religion with a friend, and he mentioned to me that mormons have the same information given the same day worldwide in their meetings (or whatever they call them) just like the dubs do.
and important, since my loyal dub wife told me in our last discussion that was a big reason why she had the truth, the worldwide unity.. anyone here heard this before?
Bah, that's uniformity, not unity. Unity doesn't require things to be identical, in fact isn't it reasonable for only the core doctrines to be the same? Remember how you were supposed to form comments in your own words, but people just tended to read the part the underlined in the paragraph or just rephrase it? That's simply called not being able to think.
