dear gentle members, .
remember the thread i started about my "liberal" jw mother?
well, forget all about that.
Im sorry you had to go through the emotional drama involved. I say buy another ticket, and bring her with you. Then you can let all the other wonderful little apostate brothers and sisters "love bomb" her and change her mind for you.
does it bother you?
the more i think about it---the angrier i get.
I was angry when I first discovered their cult-likeness, and they tried to convince me that I was crazy for thinking so. Now I'm done being angry. It's a waste of precious time in my opinion. I try to avoid using the word "cult" when it gets brought up in a conversation. Instead I just say I raised in a VERY STRICT RELIGOUS home. You get a lot less "this person must be crazy and emotionally scarred now" looks by avoiding that word. Unless of course someone who's interested in the religion asks me about it, then I try to use the word as much as possible
.
if there be something i remember well in my younger days it was telling someone something in the congregation in confidence, only for them to then grass you up to the elders, how did you feel, do you feel about grassers?.
celtic mark
Oh Grassers.... you mean like the grassy boys in that book The Outsiders, and the Grassers were always fighting with the Soshes. And then Pony Boy and Johnny kill that kid, and there's a big rumble between the Grassers and the Soshes??? I just love the Grassers, I always route for the underdog
a week before the fest and my little one has come down with mono!
doc says it can last a week or up to a month.
i'm keeping my fingers crossed 4 days of r & r is all that he needs to get better and that i dont catch it.
Ahhh do what I used to do: Slip some Bacardi in to their Kool Aid, wrap in a Papus, strap them to your back and come out and party anyway!!!
I am kidding of course. Hope you can find a way to make it. I certainly hope the little one gets better soon. It's terrible having a sick child. I wish I lived never by, I'm stay with the angel so you could have fun.
<------ use this recipe, always works for me, unless of course they're allergic to cats or dogs
p.s. or you could take Orange fat Cat's advice, she sounds like she actually knows what she's talking about
yesterday i saw an old friend from a long time ago, like when we were kids.
she responded a shy hello.
when i asked how she was doing she responded that she was disfellowshipped.
Way to go Castles!!!! I betcha that made her day. My best friend is DF'd and sometimes she'll call me out of the blue just say that she saw so-and-so and they talked to her.
GOOD FOR YOU!!! I hope you keep in touch, that would be a great thing

thanks ThiChi, it wasnt in my head before, but now it is
just wondering what sorts of things give you the "spiritual high" that you may have previously gotten from jw.
another form of religion (within christianity or some other religion)?
meditation?
In all seriousness though, for me it's exploring the many things that this great earth has to offer. I love to travel. I love when I'm in a new place with new experiences. I love nature. I've learned to take a few minutes and take my surroundings in. To breath, and feel the energy around me. Sometimes going to the beach and just staring at the tide. I marvel sometimes at the strength of the earth, and it's people, and it's cultures. That is what gives me my spiritual high.
everybody knows how much texans like their lone star state...someone started trashing our state here recently.
there is good and bad, ugliness and beauty everywhere.... so-o-o...everybody ... i'd like to see some pics of the natural beauty, where you live ?
or places you'd like to live, too.. i took these yesterday.... .
Joanna I love your pics. It looks beautiful. It seems to have all of my favorite things: Water, Woods, changing seasons, beautiful scenary, and an interetsing nightlife. I just might have to put this on my list of places to eventually visit :)
