  Bethel Brother for 15 years called to "head office" thought he was qoute: "Going to get fired."

  he's been there since the early 1980's and was called to the "head office" for the first time in 15 years!

  i was told he crapped himself saying i qoute: "i thought they were going to fire me.

  " instead he got a free trip to korea to represent our bethel during the next convention....a reward or bonus for his many years of service....the elder who told me about this said how "kind" bethel is to do this, but i just thought damn, the guys been getting $50 bucks a month pay for 15 years...at least send him to disneyland as well!.

  If Jesus truly were leading the WT org' why would anybody be fearful of those in the head office??

  anyway, simple question: would jws take up weapons and kill people if the gb told them to, using 'appropriate scriptural backing'?

  1995 Generation change - Awake! Masthead change

  this is regarding the change in the wording of the awake!

  masthead regarding "the creator's promise" to restore paradise.

  i believe the change happened between the octbober 22 and november 8 issues.

  I do not recall at the time, there being anything in the magazines 'heralding' the new light when the Awake masthead changed.

  I believe it was just sneakily changed, kind of underhanded.

  You would've thought something of this magnitude would have warranted at least a mention in the body of the publication for the change.

  since i'm still suffering in this crackerjacks organization, these are some of statements that just drive me nuts.

  1. in service: "we are not here to convert you" funny how jws have the true religion but resort to deception and outright lies in order to get people to listen

  2. to other jws: "we won't have to deal with this in the new system" 7 billion evil doers dead and gone, no longer create problems for us

  Hi Matt, I'd like to say WELL DONE for keeping your cool.

  I'm sure I'd have blown a fuse but the way you handled them was the better course to take.

  Elders are so slippery in a JC situation.

  It was chilling to hear them say they 'love' you when they were obviosly out to DF you from the start.

  Do they know this recording of them is on the net?

  how are the dubs reacting to swine flu?

  i'm just curious as the offical govement advice about swine flu is to stay away from public areas if poss and if you have swine flu to stay from everyone full stop!.

  but my experiance of jw's is that they would go to the hall wether they were infectious or not.

  many is the time i've sat behind someone coughing or spluttering away!

  When swine flu first became evident in the UK and it was on the cards that large gatherings may be prohibited by the government, the sentiment in my cong' was that the society would never cancel the assemblies & that bro's & sis' would still gather together despite common sense steps taken by the authorities.

  7 "Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!

  I wonder if the writers of the Watchtower quoted above by ThomasCovenant can feel the millstone around their necks for saying such misleading things in the name of Jesus???

  Jesus meant it would be better for them to face this outcome than the judgement they would receive from God.

  Sooooo, Jehovah would be there listening as a woman is raped to hear if she screamed or not???

  Perverse & warped idea of justice I'd say. Surely if I was in earshot of this violent act & I did nothing to help her but did make notes whether she 'screamed' or not, you would all think I was somewhat short of compassion?

  Fake Knock and Other Sneaky Tactics During Field Service

  yeah, i hated "field circus".

  i don't like bothering people on saturday mornings about the latest watchtower & awake magazines and try to convert them from their religon to become a jehovah's witness.

  so, what i did was just wait until the group passes by and fake knocked.

  The 'pioneer walk' was a special skill learned by pioneers in my cong'

  While every one else was walking a normal pace the pio's walked only half as fast & it was alright cos' the Circuit overseer said it was OK as it made the territory last.

  It was like one of those special effects used in advertising when evereyone is whizzing along but the person in focus is walking normally, bizarre.

  Then there was another trick the pio's used of knocking on one door in town & then walking to the next town to do a call then walking all the way back to do another.
