Texas Public Schools Required to Teach Bible This Year
by leavingwt intexas public schools required to teach bible this year.
the school year is almost here, and if literature of the bible is not already offered in your child's school, it will be this fall.. books are a common sight in classrooms around the nation, but the bible is one book that is not.
come this fall, a texas law says all public schools must offer information relating to the bible in their curriculum.

Our dreams are made up of all the flotsam floating through our conscious and subconscious. Sometimes it's useful to pay attention because we may discover something going on deep in our hearts that our waking mind couldn't pinpoint. Other times, it's just pretty refuse.

We are all of the characters in our dreams. Dreaming of a little girl is an aspect of yourself; likely the vulnerable, innocent, childlike aspect.
What kind of emotions do these songs invoke in you? It's possible that you're feeling some emotion that's similar to what the song made you feel when you first heard it. The best way your mind could get you to recognize this feeling was by remembering the song. Or it's possible that you recently heard something that was similar to the lyrics, though you didn't realize it at the time. Your memory made a conection in your subconscious.

Do you think it merely odd or impossible for a person to profess to be a Christian Agnostic?

If one accepts that the man Jesus actually existed, and that the gospels contain some truth about what he did (minus the miracles), one could make the case that Jesus was a rebel with a cause, someone who hated hypocrisy but loved children, and taught simplicity, kindness, and charity.
One could decide to become an emulator of such a man, a Christian, without the necessity of believing in a god.
This is exactly the reasoning I will use if my religious views ever come up with my boyfriend's family.

What that person thinks they mean by that term may not be what the literal definition suggests, in which case they need to follow up with an explanation or decide on a new lable. On the other hand, they may be a moron. I have seen someone make a good argument for why they are an atheistic deist.

Imperfection is irrelevant. Who has the right to rule?
by bluecanary inwe started this discussion on another thread, but i didn't want to derail the topic at hand.

Shameless bump. I did so enjoy this thread; I hate to see it die.
"Everyone has the right to express opinions. But men who claim to be God's spokesmen on earth surely do not have the right to express mere opinions while claiming that what they say is backed up by God's own Word and should be accepted as such. When statements are spread around the globe as God's message for mankind as spiritual "food in due season," those publishing them are certainly neither "faithful" nor "discreet" if they irresponsibly express fallacious opinions argue tenaciously for them, belittle any who disagree or, worse, question their loyalty and humility before God."--Ray Franz, Crisis of Conscience
Some questions on this thread I would still like to see discussed:
How would you define human perfection? Is it an ideal standard or a description of the highest standard yet attained? How would perfection be manifest? Is perfection compatible with free will?
Is it possible that, as he did in the past, God speaks through multiple individuals or entities today? What are the criteria for determining whom God has spoken to?
If someone claims to be acting in accord with God's spirit, is it unreasonable, then, to hold their actions, as a group, to a higher standard? Is God incapable of overcoming human imperfection to get correct information disseminated?
How many doctrines must a religion get right in order to prove that they have God's backing? How many are they allowed to get wrong?
What are the criteria for determining which doctrines are the most important to get correct?
How do you choose if two or more religions teach the same correct doctrines?

Before Christ-mas it was Childer-mas: Massacre of the Children
by cameo-d inwhile researching crucifixion artwork from the 12th to 16th centuries, i noticed that many paintings had a santa claus type figure included in the painting.
usually a red cap and red clothing.
in other paintings, the majority of people in attendance at the crucifixion were dressed in red or green---the traditional christmas colors.
