Agree with them. "Of course, they are imperfect, which is why we need to be careful that any mistake made due to imperfection on their part do not lead us to lose faith/commit wrongdoing/go against Bible teachings, etc."

I need some good responses to the excuse "The elders are imperfect"
by BonaFide inplease make them simple, i have noticed that some of my friends can only stand logic for about 30 seconds before they start changing the subject.
i need some good questions, or points to make them think.
i have tried my own, but i need a better response.. here are the comments my friends have made:.

Defining "race".
by lurk3r inif we enter into a "new world" with no boundries, and people mix freely in a "perfect world", with no regard for race or a particular ethnicity, what will the world become?
how and where would everything settle out genetically in the stream of time?.

If everyone lived forever, you would still have the same ethinic groups that started the population at least. In reality, it's a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it would be great if EVERYONE could overlook race in choosing who to love. On the other, it would be a shame to lose the diversity we have in such lovely variant skin tones and body features.

When and should I tell my family I am pregnant?
by Free yet lonely inleft three years ago - did the fade away and managed to avoid getting dissed.
have been living with my boyfriend for a year and a half and am 9 wks pregnant, we are both very happy about it.
i have been having a really hard time with the hormones and the morning sickness - cannot eat anything except crackers as it comes back up immediately and the slight smell of anything unsavoury sets me off.

First of all:
Second of all, have you thought about sending a card, rather than phoning? That way you get to inform them of their new family member and about how HAPPY you are without being hit with their immediate, disapproving reaction. If they want to respond, more time and thought will take place before hand and maybe give you a better outcome.
It's totally your choice of whether you want to tell your family. I have the feeling though, that you will be happier and feel you have taken the high road if you do tell them. That way it will be their lousy decision if they choose not to see their grandchild/neice or nephew and they can't blame it on you. It may also give you more of an opportunity to antiwitness (if that's something you want to do) if they do want to see the kid.

I don't know how cognac feels about it, but as far as we're concerned, spend as much time here as you like. Feel free to speak up, too. We have several witness apologists on the board with whom we enjoy some lively discussion/debate.

Any great elder or JW experiences?

these elders were so incredibly loving that i really believed even in there mistakes they were directed by god.
mistakes that could have and did cause me physical harm by my ex.

I can think of three elders (and their respective wives) who were very nice to my family, helped us when we needed it, and never tried to be the master over us. This is out of six congregations that I've been in. Peace and happiness to the good ones!
