Robyn,
I hope that the JW's visiting this web site will be able to cast aside their rose-colored glasses and see the truth about the organization.
I hope so too!!!!!

jehovah's name, the very name associated with jehovah's witnesses is being disgraced, trampled upon as never before in the organization's history!!.
in the past jehovah's witnesses have been reproached for standing up in defense of jehovah and his word.
jehovah's name was sanctified at all costs and it appears from their history books that jehovah was making a good name for himself by means of their integrity.

In the past Jehovah's Witnesses have been reproached for standing up in defense of Jehovah and his word. Jehovah's name was sanctified at all costs and it appears from their history books that Jehovah was making a good name for himself by means of their integrity.
But something changed on May 28, 2002. A man representing God's Organization, a man who looked as if he was imitating his Master the Christ, a man who bore God's name upon himself by virtue of his participation in the preaching work, was publicly exposed as a pedophile! With the knowledge and consent of the Watchtower Organization a child predator was found "handling the word of the truth aright"; representing himself to every child in the neighborhood as a man of God, a righteous individual, a man who could be trusted.
That one scene, that one act, was a slap in the face to every sincere Witness and showed contempt for Jesus' words making them invalid!
"Whoever receives one of such young children on the basis of my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives, not me only, but also him that sent me forth."
"Whover stumbles one of these little ones that believe, it would be finer for him if a millstone such as is turned by an ass were put around his neck and he were actually pitched into the sea."
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WATCHTOWER?
"The one whom people put in charge of much, they will demand more than usual of him."
Jehovah has allowed circumstances to develop that have heaped reproach upon his people and in turn upon his name. In ancient Israel when Jehovah allowed his name people to be disgraced to such an extent that reproach was brought upon his name as a result, it was because Israel had sinned greatly and Jehovah had withdrawn his support leaving them exposed to their enemies.
This is what has happened today to the Watchtower!!
Why Jehovah has withdrawn his support from them is for them to determine.

...do you want an end to the entire organization of jehovah's witnesses?.
i'm guessing there is so much money involved, we couldn't hope to see an end to them, but that's what needs to happen imho.
after all, jim and tammy faye bakker had lots of money associated with their church, and a theme park complete with hotels to boot and they're all gone.
Joseph,
I agree. It is not simply a matter of policy. Very little of what Jehovah's Witnesses teach is truth. Hundreds if not thousands of details regarding their doctrines must be radically changed.
JT,
wt will either change or die and if history is any indication they will changeIn comparison to the Catholic policy of attempting to maintain their old ways of worship, the JWs have made changes at a lightning speed pace!
Their favorite "new light" phrase will come in handy again soon I am sure.

Francois,
I think the Society will reform making changes in: their blood policy, the child abuse policy, the shunning practice, the closed door policy towards the younger anointed, the absolute rule elders have in the congregations and other problems.
I believe they will be forced to make these changes and the younger men close to the top who will eventually move into higher positions will "make it so"!

he really does.. we had a long chat tonight and he was really sad.we were never integrated into jw society,so it's not the people;he justsaid ...'want to belong to god's family'?
!i went through a few more points as to why the wtbs wer'nt the 'right' religion and asked him if he felt god was happy with people who lie.he re-accepted that and then said'so,how do you know where to go?i tried to explain it by asking him if he thought god looked at congregations or individuals and we got to the conclusion that it's probably individuals.... my point is, he wants to go to his teachers church, and i don't.my husband has never been interested in religion in any form and as the months go by,i feel less and less inclined to be involved in any religion.he has a strong christian theme at his school, but done nicely, so i know his desperation is,nt all 'my fault' but i feel guilty at making him so desperate to find the place he feels comfortable in.he's only 8 and an obsessed sports fan who has a very loving ,full life-but he's unhappy at night and i'm so worried it's my fault.i feel so depressed tonight and responsible for messing up his head with it all.the point is.... do i take him to his teachers church even though i have no desire to?how long would i have to go, feeling a hypocrite?.
what will it do to him if i don't try to help him practically with how he's feeling?.
Termite,
I don't think my son feels the same about JWs. His eyes have been opened to their faults but he also is aware of the good things. We were in a very loving congregation, very loving. People really cared and showed concern for each other.
If he should decide to get baptized he will do it with VERY open eyes, I will make sure of that! We will support his decision though, since it is his to make.
I hope all the best for you, your son and your family.

Termite,
I sympathize with your situation. My son misses his best friend.
IMO, no religion is free of wrongdoing or wrong teachings. The JWs is where he was raised, he feels comfortable, he fits in there. But unlike your son mine is 15 years old. He never made friends outside of the KH. He knows he can go back and we will help him to go back if that's what he really wants. His older sister will probably occasionally attend a meeting with him just so that he does not feel all alone.
It has been hard on him. We left voluntarily, he had to leave with us.
If he decides to go back though he does know that he will not be allowed to be baptized until he turns 18!
Just wanted to share our experience.

i'm still thinking this through, so i invite differing perspectives from the board members.. if bill bowen's mission is to expose the wt policy on molestation, and hence by this exposure ellicit a favourable change to their paradigm, wouldnt he as a result be inadvertently " cleansing " the wt, making it " better " ?.
this obviously being a fruitage of his works, and the fact that he has the unequivocal support of most xjw's ( like you fine folk ) wouldnt that mean that you guys would then be a part of that aforementioned work, that of improving the wt image and policy.. therefore the question is cloaked by a seeming contradiction in the form of a paradox, namely..... by supporting billy boy are you destroying the wt image or refurbing it ?.
does god really work in such a mysterious way ?
Bathory,
Periodic cleaning of a septic tank is useful but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a septic tank.

both here and in some private correspondence i have received the role of barbara anderson as detailed in the dateline segment has been questioned.. the main reason is that she is a 'she' and not a 'he' and that 'she's' should not have access to confidential records at bethel.. anyone who served at bethel for any length of time discovered that bethel doesn't always work by the same rules as those they issue to the congregation.. i met barbara while she was in the midst of her proclaimer research.
it was likely just another 'branch tour' to her, but i do remember speaking with her and being impressed by the intelligence behind and shine of her eyes.
a couple of items of interest that should help dispell those who doubt the role she had in brooklyn.

get ready to meet your god o israel, is no doubt a meaningless phrase to those who have no fear of god.
those who in their presumptuousness imagine that there will not be a day when jehovah settles accounts with his people can only be described as faithless and apostate.
but, for those who fear god the prospect of jehovahs impending judgment both fills one with dread and awe.
OOPS! Sorry!!!!
"GET READY TO MEET YOUR GOD!", thought this was another Dateline thread!
i would like to ask jws who are visiting here to go check their watchtower indexes for leo greenlees.
he was a member of the governing body, he also is the only governing body member whose disappearance from the gb is not documented in watchtower literature!
the announcement of the death, resignation or dismissal of every gb member can be found in watchtower publications except that of leo greenlees!!!
The silence of the Watchtower on the Greenlees matter is very telling!
Why was there no announcement of the Leo Greenlees departure from the Governing Body?
Why did they announce Chitty's departure, Raymond Franz' departure, but not Leo Greenlees!!??
