DNCall, this entire story was beautiful. Took a few minutes to clear the tears away...a tear for the pain and disappointment you went through, as well as a tear for the joy in knowing you are free and can now enjoy things in life that you felt you could not. You have a life now, and that is what God would want. Bless you and Barbara,

Confession from my JW wife
by freeman inshe has been buying my unemployed son his cigarettes.
how nice to know where my money goes.
1) turn her ass in to the elders, while blowing smoke in their face from a nice cuban cigar.

Let him smoke. Read this. I smoke and I'll keep on. Mom smokes at 82, not a single health issue. I realize this may tick some of you off, but smoking has been around way longer than you realize....nicotene is a natural anti-depressant and stress reliever. Mucus on the inside of the lungs can protect against certain disease.

There is some great observations here....I just couldn't seem to figure out how to respond to the email my sis sent. Now I have a few ideas.
I am still pondering why she even sends this stuff to me. I got all sorts of assmbly footage (youtube stuff) from her from their last assembly too. If she is dreaming I might have a lightbulb moment and go running to my local KH with open arms, she can keep on dreaming. Just the mere fact that everyone has their 'best face forward' all the time makes my skin crawl. Someone mentioned earlier that here at JWN we do have a brotherhood....well said, and thank you. It's true. I'd feel as comfortable in a room with you all in it as I do behind my computer.
The germany and Hitler comment was great too!
Thanks for your insight and comments.

Hello Dear friends
Here is a tidbit from our convention here in Amarillo. This is NOT a spoiler. The item was included in our closing talk and related to the entire brotherhood in the US branch.
It seems the motel association here in Amarillo decided to cease giving any breaks to our brothers coming to the annual convention which has been held here in Amarillo for some thirty years. As a result the brotherhood was able to schedule only one convention here this year. But their decision was made a year ago. And it was reported to me that some motels actually raised rates to the brothers giving no thought to possible consequences. Then last fall the economy started to crumble and travel diminished. Empty rooms generate no income. Add to that the fact that the reduced number of conventions (reduced from a high of four conventions to only one this year) resulted in fewer meals being served at local restaurants, fewer items purchased at grocery stores and department stores (even Wal Mart) which fact results in fewer tax dollars coming into the city when revenues are already down.
The City of Amarillo wanting to be assured that we were not planning on leaving Amarillo sent a three man delegation of business men to Bethel to plead the case of Amarillo. Anyway, the brotherhood welcomed them and gave them a tour of Paterson and Brooklyn. This tour and the brotherhoods obvious professional way of doing business so impressed theses men that they made this comment as reported in a letter from the governing body to us here in Amarillo and partially read at our convention, this point. "We feel you people should be placed in charge of the US government and in six months you would have the problems, including the economy fixed."
The entire 5000 plus audience were very happy to hear this assessment of our organization and our work. And that comment from the Chamber of Commerce and the city may open a few hearts to Jehovah.
Just as I was about to post this the local news ( KFDA channel 10) reported the dollars spent in Amarillo by conventioneers this weekend at more than two million.

"tejotitas" means "little jws" in spanish.. warning: the blog is in spanish, since that my first language (and because people from other countries need to be aware of this cult), but i may translate it to english in the near future.

my parents are the defenition of brainwashed wittnesses, my father even belives he is anointed.. after i got baptised i suffered from intense deppression and with a little soul searching, after a year i realized that i need some time for my self.

Hi Belly! Thanks for coming here and making your story known!
I swear, if I had the money, I'd build a HUGE retreat for JW escapees to live while they gathered their wits and de-jw'd.
You know you are in for a tough ride now. Your parents will be all about getting you back in. They don't know any better.
I believe our youth are the harbingers of changes that are needed. You are the future.

I have a conundrum....armchair psychologist needed!
by journey-on inyou have to make a life changing choice.
you approach the choice one way and your spouse advocates a different approach.
the nature of the situation removes any possibility of a compromised arrangement.

I'd sleep on it.....gauge the answer to you decision by how you feel in that soft spot right below your heart...you know, that place where you feel a twinge or heaviness when something isn't quite right, and a lightness and content feeling when something is on track....Meditate on this, let go. You'll know soon enough. Just drop it and go about your day and evening, waking in the morning to feel inside the right thing to do.

Witnesses "Policing" People...Is It True?
by CrimsonBleu inmy sister told me once she likes to "police" people, that it was sort of a game she liked to play.
she is true to her word, she does just that.
always seeking the negative, rarely acknowledging positive...anything.. is this common among witnesses?
