I have been DA'D for many many yeras and I actually have to shun my two witness sisters......I have to look at it as removing myself away from toxic people and relationships. It's a relief, and no stress at all.

A JW MOTHER'S SO CALLED LOVE
by elm inbefore i tell you my story i just want to say thank you to everyone on this forum for their sometimes funny, and sometimes sad, and sometimes very thought provoking posts, it has helped me a lot.. my family, which consists of a younger brother and a younger sister and my parents.
we began studying with the jw's as a family (mother's insistence) in the mid 1980's.. i was then 13, my sister 12, my brother 7, my mother thought she found the answer to all life's problems and became fully brainwashed, and hence if we wanted to be a happy family we had to all become jw's, and so because we were young and mainly to keep our mother happy we all became jw's.. all i can say is my parents life might have been, happier but mine was far from happy.
i left home as soon as i could i was 16.. my sister at 18 got married to a jw, and they bought a house and settled in to married life, when my sister had her first child at 19 her son was 6 weeks old when my parents moved into their home for a few weeks, while their new home was ready to move into.. during their stay in my sisters home they all got on really well despite a small house and no room to move.

Strange YPA article: Should I quit school?
by serenitynow! inthe november 2010 awake (the atheist issue) has a ypa article that seems strange to me.
it is about whether or not a kid should drop out of school.
the way that it's written makes it seem that dropping out of school, (not college) is ok under some circumstances.

Jamiebowers is dead on...this is a tactic to instill the idea of doing something that most teenagers dream about all the time. Today's teens are so stressed out and hate school anyway...reading this will be a relief. To think that quitting school is approved or acceptable feeds this desire.
This is a "dumbing down" tactic. The less education a person has, the better slave they are and will not question the 'masters'. Shame on that organization.Shame on them for being the inspiration to derail a perfectly good healthy young mind.
To all you young people: GO TO COLLEGE! It is AWSOME! I didn't go till I was 42 and loved every single minute of it!

It's a year later but I had to do this......
I just reread this entire thread....not much has changed except I have moved Mom in with me and my family where we can keep an eye on her...she is happy here and is getting healthier and her mind is getting better.
A for the sisters, they still cannot tolerate each other. But one thing I wanted to state here is this:
A few posts back I mentioned the one sister siccing her husband on me? He wrote me a nasty letter on behalf of what he heard from my sister...?
I got a letter of apology from him a few months later retracting everything he said, and blamed it on his wife...my sisiter. That apology meant the world to me. But she does not know he did that.
OK, end of thread. Thanks everyone. This all needed an ending.

Can You Explain "No Part Of This World" For Me So I Get It?
by CrimsonBleu inbecasue....you see...i don't get it!.
i don't get that jw's can't do military things (not even go to a commisary or deliver a truckload of merchandise to a base) .
can't get higher education.

Hi Blacksheep, Ia m a black sheep too...been out for 25, well, nearly 30 years now. I have two sisters still in.
I wanted to just throw some thought provoking questions out.
Also, I wanted to be updated at any change of policy the WT has from what it used to be while in. It befalls me that the rules they make for their members confine them to such a limited life. Think about this: if we ALL--the entire world---were all JW, then who would we go to for legal, medical and other professional help?

join YMCA or other community clubs
associate with disfelloweshipped people becasue they are 'worldly"
And I know there si more...but that's enough for now.
If it were not for our soldiers, we'd be in deep &^%$.
Their members can't get higher edducation, but when they need a doctor or a lawyer or any other services from highly educated persons, they have no trouble coming to them for help.
Disfellowshipped people and other people of the world (Earth) are one and the same, except DA's are not in the church anymore.
JW's have NO trouble taking SSI, SS retirement, or SSDI from the government, recieveing governmenrt assisted health care, welfare, and so forth. They have no trouble getting a government issued drivers licences, or even a business license if they have their own business.
So what in the world is considered worldy?

I'v read lots of hooror stories on here, BRB, but yours hit me like no other. I am so disturbed by this right now I can't even think of a decent reply, only that I can hardly wait till the WTS is but a pile of rubble.
Sorry, it just breaks my heart to try to imagine the pain you went through, not to mention your father too, all becasue your Mom and GrandMOm jumped at the high and mighty chance to think they were so special that God would love them even more for ripping a family apart.
Hugs

"You Will Know The Truth!"
by wannabe in"you will know the truth!".
it is common knowledge today that the governing body of the watchtower society, has established a record of, bare minimun, at least 130 years of failed predictions and false propecies; yet even in the face of that, claim they are not false prophets.
reasonably, would a true prophet of jehovah god establish a record that long, of scriptural errors, and blunders?

That was brilliant. A hearty Thank you. May I take that general consensus and rewrite it for publication on associated content? PM me.
