(Yay for you!)....I was just thinking how awesome it is going to be when you are at work one day, and one of your former congregation members happens to need PT services and you are assigned to their case! What on earth would they do without worldy people and apostates since they are the only ones who can get education without a bunch of crap!

when we were jws we were told that death is an enemy but if we were faithful to jehovah, we would be alive always in his eyes.

Not a bit. There would be peace in not knowing anything, if that were true. However I do believe we are as eternal as Jesus himself who set an example for us when he came here. Those in alignment with Holy Spirit and the Father are promised life.
I am not a jw, but was 25 years ago. I have two sisters in who hate each other, fight, lie, start trouble, meddle in peoples business and are about as UN loving as one can be. They try to drag me into their quarrels and I am DA'd....go figure. Then they tell me I need to get back in the org...I told my oldest sister a few days ago that I would rather die than go back, and if either of them were around after our deaths in a new paradise place, I would ask God to relocate me or kill me. Either would be fine! I don't think I could stand eternity watching those two battle it out over stupid sh*t. Please forgive me for being so synical, I have dealt with their self righteous arrogance and distrust of each other for many years. God can deal with them.
i came to the belated realization that the way the org is structured is simply based on the classic 1950's corporate model.
note the similarities.
they are just another failing business.. board of directors- governing body.
Interesting that they claim to be no part of this world, yet use a worldly business model to structure their organization.
some of you know i have struggled with this for awhile.
i really do believe in marriage and the committment, however, sometimes enough is enough.. his endless preaching at me and calling me and my (adult) children satan has me realizing that this situation is not going to get better.
the other day he kicked my son out of the house for wearing a cap, in his car, with a skull on it.

I have been where you are. But my ex was not a jw, just an ass. Your ex would like nothing better than to see you grovel, see you sweat, see you struggle so he can gloat. It's a power trip.
Your sons will see too the freedom and peace life has without that awful stress. They will back you, protect you and be more help than you can imagine as they get older.
Living on your own is great! I have done it and LOVED every new moment that approached, knowing I was in full control.
Be leary of him cooling off and trying to renegotiate friendship with you. Never trust someone who once tried to make you less than you are.
Another thing...watch that he doesn't somehow try to sabbotage your job or your friendships. Just sayin'. I want the best for you now that you are free and can think straight!

I have been DA'D for many many yeras and I actually have to shun my two witness sisters......I have to look at it as removing myself away from toxic people and relationships. It's a relief, and no stress at all.
before i tell you my story i just want to say thank you to everyone on this forum for their sometimes funny,and sometimes sad, and sometimes very thought provoking posts, it has helped me a lot.. my family, which consists of a younger brother and a younger sister and my parents.
we began studying with the jw's as a family (mother's insistence) in the mid 1980's.. i was then 13, my sister 12, my brother 7, my mother thought she found the answer to all life's problems and became fully brainwashed, and hence if we wanted to be a happy family we had to all become jw's, and so because we were young and mainly to keep our mother happy we all became jw's.. all i can say is my parents life might have been, happier but mine was far from happy.
i left home as soon as i could i was 16.. my sister at 18 got married to a jw, and they bought a house and settled in to married life, when my sister had her first child at 19 her son was 6 weeks old when my parents moved into their home for a few weeks, while their new home was ready to move into.. during their stay in my sisters home they all got on really well despite a small house and no room to move.
This story makes me tear up.
