Hysterically funny? Really? Thanks, Manon. And thanks for being the first to respond to my post.

WT February 1 Keep Bearing Much Fruit study March 23, 2003
In the WT world, Love is a completed time card.
The first two paragraphs start great. “I am the vine, you are the branches...“(John 15:5), but the article quickly degrades. Union with Christ is turned around to
Unity , (para. 3) which turns around again to the burden of obligation. A Christian well plugged in to his Life Source has no trouble bearing the fruit of love, kindness, gentleness, etc. etc. It flows naturally out of the generosity poured in to his life. Here is how the WT turns it around, para. 4 ...all disciples are required to bear fruit but also that all are capable of doing so, no matter what their circumstances or limitations may be. para. 5 .. within the limits of our circumstances, we must make room for growth in our activities as a disciple . Lip service is given to Galatians 5:22,23, but the article quickly focuses in on one activity - Literature Distribution.
The most astounding mental gymnastics, however, are reserved for para. 10-11. Here the argument is made that great fruitfulness is not measured by how many disciples are gained, but by how much seed (literature) is distributed. Apparently, it is of no concern that WT seed is sterile.
Para. 10
Jesus’ illustration of the sower and the different types of soil points to the answer - a heartening answer for those who witness in less productive territories...What fruit? Well, after a wheat stalk sprouts and matures, it produces ...not little wheat stalks, but new seed. Likewise, a Christian produces as fruit, not necessarily new disciples, but new Kingdom seed. para. 11 ...Since the seed that is sown is the word of the Kingdom, the fruitage must be a many-fold duplication of that seed.
Excuse me, but I do not know a farmer on this planet who deliberately wastes his seed. If he has rocky soil, he picks rocks. If he has hard soil, he laboriously plows and works the soil. His goal is that every seed sprout and grow. Carelessly strewn seed are an abomination to Jehovah (why do Laundromats come to mind) .
Then Judah said to Onan, Go in to thy brother's wife, and fulfil to her the brother-in-law's duty, and raise up seed to thy brother. But when Onan knew that the seed should not be his own, it came to pass when he went in to his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, in order to give no seed to his brother. And the thing which he did was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and he slew him also. Darby Gen 38:7-10
A better understanding of the various soils is that not every man is ready for the same message at the same time. Some need more practical helps, like a hot meal and a helping hand, before a Christian should ever attempt preaching at him. I maintain that a fruitful Christian, in contrast to a “True Christian (TM)”, will be giving much more tangible evidence of their love than a completed time card.

I can't help but wonder if your mom is using you for brownie points. You see, last week's study strongly encouraged the congregations to seek out the weak ones.
WT Study March 16 Have Love Among Yourselves from WT Feb 1, 2003 Can You be Happy and Secure in Your Work?
para. 3 ...
take Paul’s admonition to heart and endeavour to show love for one another “in fuller measure.”para. 4
In the same inspired letter, Paul encouraged his fellow believers to “speak consolingly to the depressed souls” and to “support the weak.” (I Thessalonians 4:14) On another occasion, he reminded Christians that those “who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those not strong.” (Romans 15:1)para. 9
Just as what was lost remained precious in the eyes of the shepherd and the woman, so those who have drifted away and lost contact with God’s people remain precious in Jehovah’s eyes. (Jeremiah 31:3) Such individuals may be spiritually weak, yet they are not necessarily rebellious. Despite their weakened state, to some extent they may still be keeping Jehovah’s requirements. (Psalm 119:176; Acts 15:29) Hence, as in times past, Jehovah is slow to “cast them away from before his face.” 2 Kings 13:23 -

Why do some of you get so worked up over this, JW's control relies on lack
by Its so simple inpersonal growth.
most people are angry at themselves for not seeing it sooner and they just blame the wtbs.
if it was not them there would be something else that 'filled their need' and would have ensnared them.

That is great to hear. I hope if Amazing is back that means his health is better. I am thoroughly enjoying Neon Madman's browse through ancient history. I wonder if all this extra time on his hands means he has finished his schooling?

AlanF vouches for Gamaliel. Look over his past posts. He drops enough information to convince me. I am so thrilled Gamaliel visits now and again. I hope that means the board has matured a little.

I better get this straight. Scully gave you the idea, not me! Let's give credit where credit is due. Actually I was going to pass on a ten-page thesis on my ideas on composition, but I ran out steam.

OK, Flame On
Don't villainize me
I wouldn't use it as a soap box to air my own laundry.
too much bloated sense of personal insight on the part of some
You don’t think comments like these are angry and confrontational?
But you are going to get NOWHERE when there is no one in authority who is directly responsible for policy.
…so Jesus was wasting his time trashing the temple court then? After all, he should have known the Pharisees would find their own way to take Him out. And they did, in their own way. Too bad Jesus refused to stay “buried”. I say, the same for shouting out the failings of the WTS. One of the measures that the United Nations uses for quality of life is freedom of the press. Tyrannical regimes have more trouble keeping in power if their failings are easily found out and communicated. I say, shout it from the rooftops!
I am not “out”, and I have never been “in”. There is no past for me to “get over”. Nevertheless, the WTS affects my life every day. As long as the WTS hurts people, I will fight back. Not hatefully, but truthfully. If this truth doesn’t hurt the WTS, why are they so adamant about keeping the “faithful sheep” as far away from the internet as they can?
