Telling the elders to mind their own business might end the easy fade but it will feel good. It is so much easier with your spouse at your side. After a few botched run ins with the elders I convinced my hubby to TELL THEM NOTHING. It is a great feeling in a marriage to know your partner has your back. For both sides. After this latest incident with the elders ask your spouse if it worked out as they hoped? No? Might the two of you work out your own business in the future?

need advice
by search4truth inmy spouse felt a need to tell to elders about me reading apostate websites and speaking against wt stuff , so they'll probably try to readjust my apostate thinking any time soon.
my spuse never see me reading anything but, during our arguments i did't keep my mouth shut and she knows that i had to read it somwhere and it wasn't jw.org.
could this get my in the trouble if my spose is the only witness and never spoke to another person about this stuff ?

Are You a Photic Sneezer?
by cofty ini am, and my wife never believed me that a sudden bright light can make me sneeze.
apparently a third of humans are photic sneezers.
although the exact mechanism isn't fully understood it may be that a strong signal in the optic nerve can stimulte a nearby branch of the trigeminal nerve.. its time to come out the closet and be proud of your crossed wires.. ....

Yes, and my children both inherited the trait. I recall one house, facing south. I'd step out with my toddlers in the morning. I would sneeze. Toddler one would sneeze. Then toddler two.

Finally learned how to live the REAL real life
by forest heathen insomeone suggested i post an introductory thread.
i am a married, rather young grandma of four precious rugrats, ages 2-9. i guess our only child son and his only child wife didn't want their own kids to be "onlies".
my other half and i married rather young (18 &22) and will be celebrating 31 years together this summer.. i am sort of add, keep thinking i am still 28, love my husband now more than ever, and am so glad i woke up and left the crazy cult.. my husband and i began studying months after marrying and then decided to take the dunk.

What is your biggest gripe with the WT and it's teachings?

Teaching that they are the exclusive holders of the Truth. This teaching is a trap for all the others that follow, preventing the student from following independent inquiry, or applying any skepticism.
If they acknowledged that they are a garden-variety religion like any other, they would have to become a kinder, friendlier religion. After all, their congregants could then "shop" anywhere for a better experience.

ONE REASON
by snare&racket inout of interest, and to formulate a cordial chat, would you give your top one reason for your belief or non belief?.
my foremost 'one reason' for non belief is:.
the historical evidence that provides an explination and timeline for how the modern religious doctrine's and dogma developed over time.. .

One good reason for belief, my gut tells me that fellowship and the reaching for divinity is good for me.
One good reason for disbelief, the dearth of emperical evidence.

I wonder if we are hard-wired to fear mass extinction events. After all, life on this planet was nearly wiped out six times. I admit to a fascination for the Armageddon movie genre. My thrill, however, is watching the heroes survive.

Just letting you know I passed the exam
by will-be-apostate inhi, my apostate friends.. a couple of weeks ago i asked for some advice regarding studying methods.
then some of you asked me to let you know my score after i take the exam at mineralogy.. i scored 90%.
i'm pretty happy with it because the exams i take are not in my native language.. if i keep up with the good scores i might get a scholarship and then bye bye watchtower society.

Mineralogy, geology is definitely in demand in Alberta, Canada and in this part of the world we still suffer from a labour shortage. You might try getting work at a mine and they may even subsidize your education, sponsor your emigration.

Can You Sue an Organisation ?
by cassuk11 inif it can be proved that someone has been brainwashed, conditioned mentally, pychologically, emotionally and spiritually can a person successfully sue an individual or organization.
after all it is a form of abuse.

The same reason condo owners can't sue their own board. The owners elected the fools, and the compensation would come out of their collective pockets. You are all in the same boat together, and the government and it's court systems, work as a whole. The only way to hold an entire government accountable is to go to the world court, and even then they won't hear individual cases of abuse.
Now...corporations are legal entities and SURE you can sue.
