as with anyone associated with jehovahs witnesses the worst possible news anyone can have is being df.
it means a loss of everyone and everything you have known all your life.
Just to clarify, DFing announcements are not always made during the "announcement" part of the meeting. If an Elder who was on a committee has a part on the meeting, he may make the announcement at that time, or if it's an announcement that may be upsetting, I've seen it wait until the end of the meeting. No rules on that.
I do have to say, that you got guts, making the announcement yourself. You made your own terms.
just curious as to who is single and who is not on this board.i have been with my boyfriend going on 3 years now.
we just moved in together in feb.for the most part we get along great but he has some weird habits.he also thinks i spend too much time on this site(which i do...but heck i finally belong!!
)so its hard to relate to him on the subject.he thinks i should just forget about it.sometimes i think i might be better off with someone who has more or less been where i have.
Married...though that is likely on the outs. I don't like being cheated on. She's got issues to sort out and I don't know how much patience I have.

What is generally acceptable? It's hard to say exactly who or what is too much of an age difference, I just turned 31. I'll likely be single again soon. Where's my cutoff line?

i just thought it might be a little extra income for someone.. toronto life magazine ( http://www.torontolife.com) is a. monthly publication focusing on local issues and social.
Seems to be a few writers on this board. While I certainly could not call myself a "writer" as I've had nothing published, it is something I'm looking into. I'd like to be able to supplement my income by getting things published here or there.
the more i read on this board, the more it makes me wonder how on earth i managed to escape the jw's without being df'd.
i was baptized in 1990 aged 15. i was df'd in 1991 and was reinstated after only 2 months 'out' and a further 3 months of returning to the meetings.. two years after being reinstated, i knew i wanted out but couldn't bear the thought of being df'd again.
so i found a flat to rent and moved out of my jw parents home.
I think your story is actually the more common one. It is from my experience anyway. The ones that get shunned and treated badly by their families and friends are the ones that have a need to speak out on the matter, and end up finding these boards and talking about how they've been treated. Most of the ones like you, who are treated reasonably, have no need to speak out, and thus we don't hear from them on boards like these.
