Are JWs Environmentalists?
by cameo-d inhas the coming population reduction at "the hand of god" ever been trumped up as a necessary thing for the health of the planet or as a positive environmental cleansing?
(rather than just as a judgement of wicked?).
i just wonder if wt uses those platforms to justify what could possibly be some kind of deliberate anihilation of a great many people.. will jws align with the agenda 21 program?

Cameo-d, there are alot of people who would say that Huamns are diesease and need to be eradicated in order to save the planet. That doesn't make them environmentalist. Someone who looks for solutions to enable the human race to work in harmony with the environment is. That certainly means recoginising that the population need controllling, by using contraception and financial incentives for smaller families, but not by genocide or allowing a devestaing plague.
The WTB$ does not in any qualify as an organisation supporting environmentalism, they use huge resources to print their spiteful literature and discourage their members from taking part in conservation activities.

A Speculative Question
by cantleave ini know there is no definitive answer to the question below.
i reckon that in my congregation there are at 30 people who don't really believe the wtb$ in its entirety.
these are the ones who attend and do just enough so as to please family, maintain social circles / business contacts or need the organisation to give them a sense of purpose.. based on your experience and the knowledge of those in your congregation what percentage of jw's do you believe would stay faithful if they had to choose between the org or their life?.

Interesting comments.
Willy I think the UK and the US are probably similar in terms of zealous:lazy ratios.
I agree with wobble, that the GB will address this not by leniency but by introducing higher levels of control, applying more guilt and trying to increase the emphasis on the urgency of the times. The 10% - 30% die hards will be used more and more to reinforce the discipline and will be given greater status not only now but also in the new system (remember when it used to be said that Elders will be princes in the NS?). The Koolaid watchtower is being used more and more to introduce more radical, controlling thinking, assemblies are also reflecting this, and in my opinion it is just going to get worse.
