Non-Bible Believers: What verses still have value to you?
by Open mind inok, if a bible believer wants to join in too, please refrain from citing john 3:16 or verse like it that clearly call for a christian perspective to be appreciated.. .
i'm looking for kernels of wisdom that transcend religions and the necessity of faith.. .
to get things started:.

New here
by Heartbreaker ini have no idea what i want to convey in words here on this site, and have surprised myself by even joining at all.
i intended just to read, and get a few pieces of information, and now am a member, and spend many hours looking through posts old and new alike.
i am a current jw, born into it, and lets just say i'm in my thirties, female, and a mom of more than your average kids.

Jehovah's Witness successfully preaches to atheist co-worker
by Awakened at Gilead inmy first attempt at an xtranormal text converted to video... this is just for fun... but i might get hooked!.
a jehovah's witness informally witnesses to a co-worker, inviting him to the public talk at the district convention "the end is near".
see how our sister is able to skillfully overcome the atheist's objections, and concludes on a good note, that hopefully will lead to a return visit on monday.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7jalx1ezi8.

WHAT HAS HELPED HEALED CURED YOUR BITTERNESS WITH THE BORG?
by freewilly01 inis there or has there been anything that has aided you in your quest to rid yourself of the bitterness and resentment of the jw's .
i know for some it has appeared that they have a newfound religion or religious belief, but that is not the case with myself.. for some maybe visiting these sites encourages them to shed those miserable memories?
for me it just builds more resentment.

it was almost the last thing that i thought i would end up doing expecially if you asked my wife and myself even a year before our decision to " live " thats how i view it not decision to leave...........it was a decision to live.. .
my therapist psychiatrist asked me who are you?

Since leaving the witnesses....
by LouBelle inmy life has been an absolute joy.
i didn't realise how unhappy i was and how much tension, angst and animosity i actually carried around with me when in that faith - it was always us against them, with regards to everything.
i wasn't allowed to just be myself, to be free to express myself - and by that i don't mean being sexually immoral, drinking and passing out...i just mean plain and simple me laughing, joking, sleeping in, playing sports, healty compition, buy a gift for my mother on mothers' day, celebrating a birthday of someone i love (all those beautiful little things that make a person unique you know).. my life now is free, happy, mostly full of joy and peace.

Did You Usually Feel Guilty While A JW?
by minimus inmy 79 year old mom that has every ailment known to man was going to the bookstudy this afternoon because she felt "guilty" for not going the last couple of meetings due to illness.
i told her it was 95 degrees outside and asked her not to go since she has difficulty breathing.
she decided to do it anyway.
