Beards and Overstepping the Commandment of God

why is it you also overstep the commandment of god because of your tradition?

like the pharisees, the watchtower is overstepping the commandment of god because of tradition.

(psalm 118:9; 146:3) yet, where does jehovah, through his word, command a christian not to grow a beard at all?

In my area, beards are not acceptable as a JW because the BOE stated that it would make one look like a Mennonite. There is a small Mennonite group in the area. Amazing how the BOE can reason on such things.

Reached Out Only To Be Rejected

last month i got word that a witness i had known had died suddenly.

i hadn't spoken to her since my disfellowshipping six years ago, but we had been good friends.

upon learning of her death, i wrote a letter of sympathy to her fleshly brother, also a witness, who had been a good friend of mine as well.

It was very kind on your part to express your sympathies over the death of a Witness that you knew. Sadly JWs have no common courtesy or simple decency to anyone who is da or df. Remember that the WTS has repeatedly pounded into the minds of their sheep to treat da and df this way. My wife told me that last Sunday's talk emphasized keeping loyal to Jehovah by shunning such ones.

Kony and his followers have committed horrible atrocities. Kony proclaims himself as the spokesperson of God and wants to establish a theocratic government in Uganda. Obama stated that this is in the national security and foreign policy interests of the United States.

Should the U.S. get involved in fixing another problem in the world, such as what they did in Iraq and Afganistan?

Should money be used to save other countries, or should it be used at home for education and social programs to help Americans?

How does such crazies as Joseph Kony affect the national security of the United States?

What exactly are men at the back of the hall taking care of?

once people have come in, and the doorman and the mic men are in place, why are there a few other suits scattered about at the back?

i saw a guy get up, sit down, get up, sit down, get up and when i looked what he was up to he was reading the noticeboard and looking around, waiting for a bus.

i figured he wasn't doing much at that point, but anything to not stay seated.

Samuel Herd once said that the elders would hate his remark about elders not being in their seats during meetings. He stated that the cong talks needed to be heard by the elders also. He also stated that Jesus knows and protects the cong. And that the elders do not need to watch the cong by standing in the back of the kh. Interestingly Samuel Herd's remarks did not change what the elders did at the cong meetings.
