What will I do with all my suits?
by JWinprotest ini just thought of something the other day as i was ironing some of my meeting shirts.
it kinda of sucks, all the money i have invested in suits, shirts and ties, that i solely use for meetings, (not required for work).
what the hell will i do with them when i leave the org once and for all?.

The Vancouver BC Jehovah's Witnesses pay the most
by 1914BS inthis year, about 32,000 jw watchtower slaves went to the convention in kamloops.
the center holds 6400 and there were five assamblies so that is how i arrived at the 32,000 figure.
the dubs spent an average of 500 per head on motels gas and food .

The WTS really should have more of these conventions.
At the figures you have stated, the JWs help the local economies (hotels, gas, restaurants) even more than the government's incentives.

Anyone heard of Watchtower policy change concerning pedophiles
by Robert_V_Frazier ini'm passing this along from someone else on another discussion board.
the claim of any substantive change in the policy on pedophiles is news to me.
can anybody verify or falsify this claim?.

Unfortunately forensic evidence is not considered a scriptural witness to the event.
But personal opinions often times rule. I have known of elders restricting privileges on the basis of the statements of a supposed victim of being molested.

I ran into an ex-JW on vacation. We're everywhere.
by MegaDude ini took my summer vacation to grand cayman this year, a small island south of cuba.
i love the scuba diving there.
the island is small.

Congratulations on your reconnecting with past friends.
Unfortunately I lost contact with all my high school friends after becoming a JW. Maybe the future will open that door again.

THIRTY PROOFS OF GOD'S EXISTENCE
by gubberningbody inthirty proofs of god's existence .
we can never really prove or disprove the existence of god.
therefore, god exists.

Very interesting concepts. I always wondered why God revealed Himself in many spectacular ways in the Scriptures, but in modern times this is absent.

Get OFF Mother Teresa's back!
by gubberningbody ini get sick to death of people denigrating mother teresa, saying that she was selfish and petty-minded.. i am especially fed up with those who say that her saintliness was purely an illusion created by her possessing minimal consciousness, like that of a small child or dog, and as such was further away from god than the average criminal.. i find this sort of talk utterly repulsive.
it is simply not right to say such horrible things about someone who was so sweet and gentle and who dedicated her whole life to helping others.. .
there!.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I always thought it was sadly strange why ones would be critical of someone who tried to help others.
Just because someone may believe differently from ones own ideas should not automatically make them bad.

I was just asked to perform a civil union.....
by AK - Jeff ini did a few jw weddings - quite a few in fact, though the number escapes me nowadays.. this one will be a 'civil union' - not a legal wedding.
one of the persons getting 'unioned' has a pending divorce, one that they believed would be finalized by now and isn't.
so, they want to have the ceremony, say vows, and then later go to a judge and have a quick legal ceremony.. they want a somewhat 'christian' ceremony.

Sounds like everything is legal, so just use what parts you want from avishai's outline.
As for the JW tattle-tailing to the elders that would be sad.
But since you, the groom, and the bride are not jws then it should not really matter.

1918 ZG March 1, 1918 Watchtower Special Edition -- PDF
by cabasilas inwhat were jehovah's witnesses (then known as the international bible students with j.f.
rutherford as their president) doing in the spring of 1918?
this is important because today's organization states that momentous events were happening in the spring of 1918. for example:.
