Reference to not mentioning GB in reports
by bibleresearcher ini think my previous username was "tfjw" but i had to get a new account.. .
anyway, i'm doing some research on judicial cases, how they are handled, the use of the secret "flock" book (pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock) and other related topics.
i'm trying desperately to find the quote referring to the elders where they are not to mention the governing body or the society, as it may be, in certain reports.

Yes that struck me as evil to lie for the WTS. The BOE can call the branch but don't tell anyone that they did.

Convention 2009 - My best friend gets "love bombed" back in the "truth" and his sad SMS!!!!
by Witness 007 ini was so happy when my best friend {a witness} since childhood tells me he has doubts about the org.
and how brothers are "two faced" and the "false prophecies", and how he "needs a woman soon or he'll visit a brothel".... he had not gone to meetings for months and his mum blamed me although he didn't need much convincing.
well we went to the convention to please family and he enjoyed the lavish attention he got from so many "loving" brothers.

Yes the love flows for those who are new or coming back to the BORG.
Remember in Luke 15 that the father gave a party for the prodigal son who returned, but the faithful other son was condemned.

Why Some People are Better Off in Cults
by Dogpatch inwhy some people are better off in cults.
familiesthe family unit has always been the core of mankinds strength to survive sometimes insurmountable odds against nature, other men and the arbitrariness of life.
when you stand alone, you have no one there to hold you up, defend you or take care of you.. if, on the other hand, you are part of a nurturing family, you have access to the helps of others, and in turn are obligated to be there when another in the family suddenly needs you.

Thanks for the article.
Before I became a JW, I thought no way I would ever become a JW. After I became a JW, I thought there is no way that I would ever leave the "truth". Now it still baffles me why I stayed and defended the JW for so long.
Yes you are definitely right, not all will see the WTS for what it really is.

MAJESTIC ones of the flock
by VIII inok, i'll give it the old college try:.
"this is what jehovah of armies has said, look!
a calamity is going forth from nation to nation, and a great tempest itself will be roused up from the remotest parts of the earth .

I have always thought that this refers to the religious leaders of Christendom. Of course there are ones who take the lead in the WTS that fit the same description.
But the WT94 3/1 pp. 22-23 par. 22 states: "Who are these shepherds? They are not the religious leaders, who have already drunk of Jehovah’s anger. They are the militaristic shepherds, described also at Jeremiah 6:3, who assemble their armies in droves in defiance of Jehovah. They are the political rulers, who have grown rich at the expense of the ruled. Many of these are wheeler-dealers, masters of corruption. They have been slow to assuage the famines that have decimated entire peoples in disadvantaged lands. They enrich “the majestic ones of the flock,” such as armaments barons and greedy destroyers of the environment, while declining to provide the medical help and nourishing food that could at so little cost save tens of millions of dying children."

H1N1 Swine Flu WTS Letter
by straightshooter inmy wife said that a letter from the wts was read at the kh yesterday.. she said that ones are fearful about the upcoming winter viruses in the u.s. therefore the wts recommended that ones cough and sneeze into ones clothing, elbow, but not into ones hands.
if one is sick, then do not come to the kh.
the wts recommended washing ones hands.

My wife said that a letter from the WTS was read at the KH yesterday.
She said that ones are fearful about the upcoming winter viruses in the U.S. Therefore the WTS recommended that ones cough and sneeze into ones clothing, elbow, but not into ones hands. If one is sick, then do not come to the KH. The WTS recommended washing ones hands. Also the BOE received a separate letter.
She told me that after the letter was read that this little girl started coughing without covering her mouth. The sister in the next row turned around and gave an angry look at the sister and the little girl behind her. Maybe the separate letter to the BOE says to DF anyone who does not cover their mouth properly when coughing or sneezing.
I am surprised that the WTS did not ban the shaking of hands at the KH.

Did you get drunk/take drugs as a witness?
by wouldacouldashoulda insmoked.
got drunk.
taken drugs (non medicinal).
-
straightshooter
When I was a witness, I got drunk a couple of times at a JW house. They loved to drink. After the elders found out about these parties, they talked to me. I had to break off my association with this family and walk straight. I was "good" after that.

Love or duty ?
by KAYTEE inmy wife (twink) and i left the org.
6years ago after 30 years of manipulation by the system that is controlled by men.. the both of us have finished with all religions..............but remain firm in our beleif in god and jesus christ !!..
the last 18 months we have been looking after twinks mum at our home after dad died, she now suffers from alzheimers which now causes a great deal of effort to keep abreast of demands made by the illness.. mum, every fortnight wants to be taken to church (she has been a catholic all her life 93 years old).. twink has no reservations about taken her, and sits out the meeting with her, under sufferance of what they get up too.. the question to any witness who may be reading this is, if she was still a witness, how would her actions be viewed.. would her act of love towards her mother be accepted by the org..............or would she be answerable to the mighty glorious ones for mixing with babylon the great?.

Sadly the BORG would view taking mum to a Catholic Church meeting as wrong. The WTS says to flee from Babylon the Great.
The individual you are thinking about is Naaman, the Syrian Army Officer. According the it-2 p. 456 under Naaman, it says that he became a worshipper of Jehovah. He requested that Jehovah forgive him when, in the performance of his civil duties, that he help the king in bowing to the god Rimmon. Hence the WTS says that his bowing would be mechancial, being solely for the prupose of dutifully supporting the king's body and not in personal worship.
What is the difference between Naaman helping the king and a family member helping their mum? But this is another example of the WTS double speak.

by Too Opinionated inwow!
this is the first time i've ever seen any publicity about a jw assembly in our little newspaper.. http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/article/20090928/wrt10/909280328.
it's wierd to see the names of people who stood up in our wedding and traveled overseas with us listed, since they all turned their backs on us.

Amazingly people continue to become part of the WTS.
But remember when a JW talks to an individual they do not highlight the child abuse that has occurred in the WTS nor do they talk about blood transfusions being wrong.
