quite a debate has been going on in the media this week regarding carbon emissions and it has been suggested that we should either become vegetarians or at the very least drastically reduce our meat consumption.. lets face it .
I am too entrenched in eating meat. I do eat less red meat and more pork, lamb, and fish for my health.
My wife and daughter are almost total vegitarians. My two sons are meat eaters all the way.
So 40% of my family will help save the planet by what they eat.
in the days before 'simplification', the days of 3 day circuit assemblies (fri evening plus sat & sun), when we used have catering departments that cooked and served up hot meals, we also used to have circuit orchestras.. i must say ours was pretty poor though, only matched by the lacklustre singing.. eyeslice.
(bee in his bonnet since mrs eyeslice went to singing practice at local kh on sunday evening).
Though the orchestra was not as refined as the music on the CDs, the orchestra at the assemblies and piano playing at the KH were more personal. I enjoyed to personal music more than the recording.

No assemblies canceled in the U.S. to my knowledge.

i just came home from picking up my youngest son and heard my next door neighbor say that.
this morning i thought i had seen a pair of jws walk by my door twice and i think they left something at her door.
I guess the jws have literature to "burn" by leaving it at not-at-homes.

When I used this book to teach Bible stories to my children, I always dreaded coming to the stories about violence and bloodshed. It always seemed inconsistent to be taught that violence is bad and then teach children that violence is ok in various situations.
dos anyone remember how the dubs used to try and show how spirtual they were by how much they had underlined their watchtower?.
this also happened to their bibles too, i saw one that was almost unreadable due to the mass of neon coloured highlighters and scribbles in the margin, myself i used to think "oooh they must be sooo spirtual!
" but really... how hard is it to agree with brain washing when your brain washed yourself?
How you brought back memories of handling the mics and spying on others Watchtowers to see if "they studied" by underlining their magazines.
One gauged the spirituality of others by the marks in their literature. How funny it is now, but back then it was a serious matter.
that it was not losing all my friends that hurt so damned bad.... it was finding out they weren't my friends that hurt so damned bad.. sometimes it still hurts so bad i want to curl fetal.. jeff.
Friendships varies by region also. A witness told me how friendly the congregation was in Arkansas. They had gatherings all the time and the brothers and sisters always came to help if you were sick. But on the West Coast, the witnesses are so busy and cold. Gatherings are few and if one misses the meetings nobody comes to visit or help.
So even within the organization friendships vary among regions or congregations among even fellow witnesses. If this happens with active witnesses, then the inactive are even treated worse.
