USA/Australian alliance could not defeat China in World War 3...agree?
by Witness 007 inchina has protested president obama's plan for increased usa military in northern australia this week.
i was just thinking, the usa is bankrupt and china has all the cash...not to mention 1 billion people!!!
if war broke out we would be totally screwed!

I think the U.S. would be the loser. The U.S. helped China progress technologically, saving them many years. China has the rare resources the world needs in this age. China has the cash and is rapidly building their military. China does not have freedom of speech as the U.S. has, so their people are way harder to be influenced by the news media against their government.

"Feeling sorry for yourself" about being hit by your husband is not Christian 2/15/12 WT Page 25 P 12
by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

It is truly sad how the WTS speaks of women being dignified in the org and then publish such trash about what bad treatment women should endure.
Wife beating should never be tollerated.

My mom and dad told me that I'm an apostate and that they want to 'limit their association' with me!!!
by Joliette ina series of events led up to an arugment with my parents last night.
my mom and dad told me that they found my videos that i was doing on youtube, and they told me that i was an apostate.
they said that they would help me if it was an emergency, but other then that, they didnt want anything to do with me.

Sad to read of your situation, but it is common within the WTS. The so-called strong and faithful look down on the less strong and faithful in their eyes. Though they welcome the questioning of doctrine and teachings of other religions, the WTS condemns those who question the teaching of the WTS. It makes absolutely no difference if ones are related family members.
Though it will be difficult to handle how your parents treat you, continue to ponder on the real "truth" that you have. The forum here is a great source of encouragement and comfort. My parents shunned me even to their death bed. It hurt, but I feel that I have had a better life and family not locked into the WTS faith.

When I am died, then I will not be worried if I was alone or not. Of course I prefer dying in a hospital than alone at home.

I am doing fine. My son has had a bad cough for several days now. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics, so hopefully that will solve his health problem.
I also want to express that I miss Sylvia.

As a physician, no matter what he was paid, he should have cared for his patient instead of killing him. Too bad he did not have a longer sentence than 3 years, but it shows how much life is worth today.

Should Joe Paterno resign over the Penn State child sex abuse scandal?
by james_woods infirst, i don't know if we have had a thread on this yet - so if this is a repost, ignore appropriately.. but i am thoroughly disgusted by this developing scandal - an assistant coach at pen state is accused of multiple, repeated, child sexual offenses.
a member of the football staff exewitnesses and incident reported it to paterno (years ago, it is reported) - and paterno reported it to the athletic director.
nothing was done, nothing was reported to the authorities.. finally, the scandal broke over the weekend.. i am deeply dissapointed with paterno - this guy was one of my football heros.

He is taking the easy road by retiring. He should have cared more for the victims as Blondie mentioned.

I left because of their judicial system and the flaws that exist in that arrangement.
