Husband has joined me in being inactive.
by Julia Orwell inthat's right, and it's great!
i don't know exactly why because he hasn't turned apostate and still seems to believe jw things.
i don't feel comfortable in asking him why he doesn't go to meetings anymore for some reason, or find out what he believes and if the things i've told him bout ttatt influenced his decision.

WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?
by flipper inhi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.
please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

Currently my daughter is still happily df. My other two daughters, son, and I being inactive associate freely with my df daughter. Originally when my df daughter lived at home, the jw avoided us like the plague. After my df daughter moved out, the jw say hello to us at the store, etc. My wife who is again an active jw continues to communicate with our df daughter. She followed the example of a circuit overseer who told her that he still visits his df brother to him return to the org. It just amazes me the logic this circuit overseer had to justify getting around the WTS. But that works out for my wife.

New Magazine says birthdays will kill you
by RayPublisher innew july 2013 awake says this on page 3:.
"there is a 14 percent greater probability that a person over 60 years of age will die on his birthday rather than on other days.".
wow, they have now proven that birthdays are pagan and not fit for christians!.

It seemed that my elderly friends died just after or during a special anniversary date. I was once told that ones close to dying hang on to see that special time and then expire. I don't know how true that is, but it just appears to me to be so.

My Final Goodbye
by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

When a df person is ignored as if they never exist is very difficult. Especially if the treatment comes from JW friends and relatives. New friends replace old friends, but close family is difficult to replace. Experiences of family breakups are common. When my daughter was df, my whole family stopped going to the kh. We provided support to our daughter who was living at home and no longer a minor. When my daughter eventually moved out of the house, my wife decided to become active again. Nonetheless, supporting our daughter when she was initially df was the best decision we ever made and helped her cope during this rejection by the cong.

Interesting experience last night
by Gojira_101 ini was hired to interpret for a church event in a neighboring town last night.
i did have a brief moment of thinking demon's would be jumping out to get me as i walked through the front doors of the church, hahahaha, not really, but it did feel awkward at first and i stuck very close to the other interpreter who asked me to help her.
i was definitely out of my comfort zone.. anyway last night i met james walker from the watchmen fellowship.

A jw who just came back from Bethel told me that a Bethelite informed him that he will be surprised about the new Bibles. Maybe something is in the works.

I noticed that the WTS was very careful not to say this is "new light", but instead that the revised information is "clarification".
