Let the children decide.
by angel eyes inok, im putting my neck on the line here but ive always believed that children should be raised to make their own choice, if to serve jah or not.. i wasnt ever forced to believe in anything, any religion etc, although my background is very complicated.. anyway, hubby and i have always thought that how can a child decide if they dont know what other things are, ie birthday partys, halloween etc.
so, our children are allowed to choose if to go places etc.
last year our little boy said he didnt want to go to a halloween party, this year he said he might.

Do you ever feel bitter...
by Newborn in...that if you had never been a jw you could have been in a totally different, hopefully better, place than where you are now?
both when it comes to proffession and family etc.... sometimes i feel that i never explored any hobbies coz preaching was my hobby.
i know it's not too late for babies or new hobbies but still sometimes that makes me sad.. love.

Yes and no...i agree with bigwilly, in that all of our decisions (and even some not our own) bring us here, make us who we are. So although i resent a certain part of me that was raised as a witness...it wasn't all bad. And again, it all brought me here today.

Boy do i understand that...It's hard...but it can happen.

Hi there, and welcome to the forum...
I'm in a similar situation...(honestly almost identical). It is definitely refreshing to talk to others who feel the same way, right?

Seriously? Isn't this an "apostate" site? I think AE lives in a delusion...

All right, do JW's REALLY do not marry outside of their faith?
by dgp ini've been a lurker in this site for some time.
i am not a jehovah's witness, but was here because i wanted to know more about the organization, since i am in love with a jw woman.
she recently rejected me, on the grounds that "she would not risk her relationship with jehovah for someone who would die in (snap fingers)".

To answer your question, yes. It's against the rules to marry a "worldly" person. Now there have been cases of witnesses marrying outside of the faith, but this comes with consequences.
Although not a disfellowshipping offense, the person is viewed negatively by the congregation and considered spiritually weak and a bad association. None of which most witnesses want to experience...

I remember thinking 'why would I want anyone to change from being in the world to a JW?'
by jambon1 indid anyone else feel this way & if so, at what stage in your time as a jw?.
i remember i must have been in the org for about 6 or 7 years.
i was always trying to be the life & soul of the cong.

Im not going to bash AE, and question her intelligence, i think everyone else do a good job at that (it's not at all respectful)...but honestly, jambon1 was talking about the overall sense of the congregation and how it's members were negative and depressed...
And the answer are more kiddie partys??

Elders use sms to invite 'faders'?
by deep-blue-sea ina young brother, who does not attend meetings frequently, but knows everything that happens in the congo, he is also a regular visitor of kingdom hall's library (to pick up some old books).
are they afraid to come in front of my door?
