LOL! I don't know. I think I need to be in a world all of my own with my various sins.

I am a sinner and there is no denying that fact
by Girlie ini have struggled with this concept for quite some time.
i feel like the apostle paul in that he wishes to do right by god in controling this issue, but find it to be a law exercising complete control over him.
i find myself wondering what is the use in doing so?

I have struggled with this concept for quite some time. I feel like the Apostle Paul in that he wishes to do right by God in controling this issue, but find it to be a law exercising complete control over him. I find myself wondering what is the use in doing so? Sin is deeply ingrained in my very being. From the moment I was conceived and brought into this world, every fiber of me is encoded with sin and imperfection with death being its only supposed reward. Not one I am ready to accept with full honor.
Because this is something that has been with me since conception, I find it illogical to have Jesus held up to me as a model to follow. I am no where near close to living up to his example. I am always told that God understands this and ask you to give him your best, but in JW World, that best means living close to an unrealistic perfection as possible. It is a struggle. One that has caused me much mental and physical discomfort over the years. One that I am starting to say to heck with and just resign myself to whatever fate that is coming to me.
Have any of you felt this way? Is it wrong for me to feel this way? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

"Remember, nobody can REALLY love you unless they know and love Jehovah first."
by AllTimeJeff in"unless they know and love jehovah first.
they love "jehovah".
they discuss how to make sure that though they are in charge, everyone doesn't see them, they see the great and powerful jehovah.... oh.

When I heard that statement uttered this past Sunday, I didn't really give much thought to it (I was in another world throughout the entire time of the convention). Having read this post, I didn't realize the gravity of the statement and what it really meant. Thanks for breaking this down ATJ.
This reminds me of a door-to-door incident that happened some years ago. I was working with my study conductor and we approached the door of this young woman. The article that was displayed on the front cover of the WT talked about love. The sister made the erroneous statement that only true christians (JWs) are capable of showing true love. This got the householder incensed and she was like, "Wait aminute lady. You mean to tell me that only those of your religion are capable of showing love? That no one else outside of it are capable of loving their fellowman or any of you JWs"? Sista got stumped and was stammering, trying to take the foot out of her mouth. Needless to say, the householder didn't accept the literature. LOL

Most annoying and irritating comments by JWs
by whathehadas insince i'm still suffering in this crackerjacks organization, these are some of statements that just drive me nuts.
1. in service: "we are not here to convert you" funny how jws have the true religion but resort to deception and outright lies in order to get people to listen
2. to other jws: "we won't have to deal with this in the new system" 7 billion evil doers dead and gone, no longer create problems for us

Surprised that no one stated the all too famous oxymoronic comment of the day:
"TRUE CHRISTIANS"!!!!!!
I rule!!!!

Witnesses "Policing" People...Is It True?
by CrimsonBleu inmy sister told me once she likes to "police" people, that it was sort of a game she liked to play.
she is true to her word, she does just that.
always seeking the negative, rarely acknowledging positive...anything.. is this common among witnesses?

A brother from my previous hall gave me a ride to the TMS/SM meeting. I wasn't driving at the time and I thought it a kind gesture. Someone saw us together and must have told the elders. He told me that the elders approached him and told him that what he did was wrong. Funny thing is, none of the elders approached me about it.

You Have No Witness "Friends"
by metatron ini apologize for this point, as if beating it to death, but folks, you don't have any witness friends!
there is no such thing.. does that sound extreme?
too radical?

I agree with AlltimeJeff. Nobody seems to have the knack in finding true friends. It either happens for you or not. Within JW society, the truth of that matter is even more glaring due to loyalty of religion and not wanting to be termed "unfaithful".

I went Sunday and can verify. The quote is verbatim of what the father said.

If you leave the truth, where will you go? (home maybe?)
I rather deal with imperfection from the organization then the imperfection from the world any day. (I suppose you just sit at home after the meetings and/or field service and stick both fingers in your ears and go LA LA LA LA LA LA LA until next meeting or field service time)
